The only rap/hip-hop/R&B that I listen to is from French artists. Particularly MC Solaar, whose music, as opposed to a lot of other rappers in the US, leads his listeners away from drugs and violence. (although, you have to understand French. Besides, I've found that rapping in French sounds better than in English).
I've also heard that one independent artist in the US, KRS-One, is one of the few decent hip-hop and rap artists, but I can't say for sure.

Well I've said this from day 1 but I love saying it and I'll say it again. Not all rap/hip-hop is garbage those who think it is I beg of you to listen to a rap artist who actually thinks about his/her lyrics and I'll even give you some to listen to. Dwayne Jr. (lil wayne) and DeAndre Cortez Way (Soulja boy) are not who you should base you opinions of hip hop off of that's like if I said Fall out boy was a good indicator of Death Metal. Lupe Fiasco's "dumb it down" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14rZ8My2o-klisten and be amazed a rapper how actually thought about his lyrics and set them to music...What A Concept! if you want some good rappers to listen to just contact me I'll give you more music than you'll know what to do with

Pikayu wrote: I hate most rap, there are a few songs that I actually like, but if you find rap on my I-pod, it's usually because I liked the beat enough to put up with the words. I wish they wouldn't waste such awesome beats and background music on such perverted songs. I agree on this. The modern rap that I am listening to right now is whack. That is why old rap is better and I will stick to that category. There beats back then was the jumpoff.

Hey, I like rapper's like Chris Brown, Soulja Boy, and other rapperz music cuz some have hella good beatz. Soulja Boy waz the first rappper that I ever listen to. Rap started to fade away during the 1990's. Ay, I still like rap and pop. Pop and rap is the highest over here in dis area in da SF.

I personaly can't stand it, but I do respect the old stuff before the gangster wannabies turned rap into about sleezy girls and money, takes no effort but the old stuff had meaning and bloodshed behind it, but now the new crappers killed it. Rap I personaly really respect would be anything by Jedi Mind Tricks, King Gordy and a few others. Theres one track king gordy did where its about jigsaw and all the slashers everyone knows, but dont recomend King Gordy to any whose under 18 cuz his lyrics are more morbid and graphic then ICP by far which I also like, and some of Kottonmouth King's old stuff Peace Not Greed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yp1ohxpi ... re=relatedThats one of KMK's songs I really appreciate, the vid is censored, lol they even censored weed so im pretty sure its appropriate^^
