I will say though, I don't have trouble with, if done right, stories that have Steele get turned around though, just it'd take a LOT to turn him around.

I agree. The Steele story I've been working on for... 2+ years now goes into that. Steele is a very bad dog. You don't do something like betray the lives of everybody in town and walk away without a scratch, and you don't continue living a life of arrogant superiority after everybody has had enough of you. Getting people's respect through fear isn't respect at all, and it doesn't take much to make that house of cards collapse on itself.

Steele is not capable of "being good", or even of not being arrogant and condescending. And you're right, it would take a LOT to make him realize the error of his ways. Can it be done? Well, that remains to be seen. :)

I get tired of hearing people say he was in it for Jenna. That's such a cheap shot at his integrity, and it doesn't fit the evidence. As if it were wrong for him to do something like that because he loved her in the first place. But, I digress.

Tell me about it. I think even if Jenna weren't in the picture at all, he still would've risked his life to save those people.
Especially cause Rosie was one of the FEW people who actually treated him with kindness.

Well, let's face it. Some people wouldn't know logic if it walked up and showed them a badge.

Rofl. I love people that have issues with others voicing opinions because they aren't the same. :D

I, for one, never said the ONLY reason this cartoon dog did those things was for the female cartoon dog. Did it play a part? Probably, yes. And no one can actually prove OR disprove that. Opinions are opinions.

Who said I was talking about you in particular? I'm not saying Jenna wasn't involved at all, but Balto's actions were definitely not born out of self-seeking motives. That's all I'm saying here.

I personally think Balto is annoying. I don't think he's selfless. The first movie, he's all 'Jenna this, Jenna that'. Well, the kids get diptheria. Ok, what does Balto say? Jenna's human's name. He only went to get the medicine so he could IMPRESS Jenna. Steele and Jenna for the win!

Yeah, he said Rosie's name because she was dying. I don't really see why you have a problem with that. And what exactly about Steele is "for the win"? You understand that Steele's actions would have condemned the entire town to death, right? Is that for the win too? I seriously don't get it, maybe you can explain what about Steele is "for the win", exactly.

As for Balto, what is it about his actions that make you think he isn't selfless? What actions did he take that only benefitted himself? Are you confusing Steele and Balto? Were we even watching the same movie?

It's "you're", and why would you be irritated by somebody asking you questions about something you said? I honestly want to know why you believe Steele is "for the win", and how Balto is selfish. You can have an opposing viewpoint, I just want to know the reasoning behind it.

Starcatcher, I get a distinct vibe that you are here just to be annoying. 1) I don't recall Balto complaining once in the first movie. He suffered very much in silence - almost too much, one could well argue. 2) Even if he were that pathetic, that doesn't make his actions any more entertaining to anyone whose conscience isn't seriously cross-wired. A poor hero is better than a tough evildoer, and nothing can change that. And 3) You use mild profanities in exchange for basic logic. That's called flame-baiting, and can lead to time in the banned box. Personally, I'd like to see you avoid that, but it's not my call.

I think that maybe he started off trying to impress Jenna by entering the race.

But, once he realized the severity of the grave situation at hand, he figured out that it was bigger than him and Jenna.
