Back on topic, I don't think the world is going to end in 2012. Going back to Lowin's post, however, it is somewhat hard doubt Nostradamus' prophecies, because many of them seem to have been fufilled - such as the 1902 San Francisco Earthquake, but then again it could all be a coincidence dues to the various translations that the prohecies have been through.

Well... I've got one of thoes feelings that England are gonna try to do a "China" And move the rain clouds away or something, wwitch to me could cause a chain reaction.

But I do doubt that the world will end 2012. It's like in the film "Ghost Busters" I think they said the world would end in 2008 or 2012 or something like that

The world is so going to end in 2012, a comet is going to pass so close to the Earth that it will effect the Earths asthenosphere (the crust) and the tides, it will cause huge tidal waves and volcanic activity that trigger a rise in greenhouses gases which will continue to warm the planet in a runaway green house effect and because the comet passed so close it will get caught in Earth's gravitational field and orbit the earth in an irregular orbit until in 5 years later it will eventually be dragged down to Earth and hit it destroying it....okay okay so I'm joking but did anyone see the point I was making?

How come the end of this Mayan calendar can't be the ending and thus a new beginning for mankind where we change our ways and stop global warming, have peace etc: Why do we also assume the end of something to be so bad? Is the end of a war a bad thing? Is the end of the school semester or an exam bad? I repeat, the world will not end in the year 2012.

I'm personnaly ok with the end of the world being a christan and all,but I'd prefer not know how or when it ends despite the hearing of WW3 I have come across.
