Now, don't you think it'd be good to cease the subtle attempt at pointing fingers and casting aspersions while trying not to make it look like that, hmm? I think we've drifted far enough off topic for today. It has everything to do with the topic, and it's not pointing fingers. Rather than continue dancing in circles with you, which I am finding quite pointless, I will repeat what I said earlier: NO one has said anything to the effect of denying anyone the right to their opinions, no matter how different they may be. They ARE expressing their frustrations at the "hate" concept. That is fundamentally different from saying that "no one is allowed to hate or to have a different opinion than me". So yeah, you are off-topic. As is anyone who is trying to derail this by claiming that this topic is an attempt to supress people's rights to have an opinion. Well, this whole topic was about opinions. My statement was about opinions (although served with a fresh dollop of sarcastic) and the topic at hand. That's not off-topic.

Like once upon a time I said, people have different ways of understanding things. And like Cat said, welcome to the world of fandom. A character can be loved and at same time can be hated. Again depends on the person. But you have to learn to take these less seriously. Cause you can't have everybody agreeing with your oppinions, there will always be someone against it. Dr.Rex wrote: We've learned all throughout history that we ALWAYS need a scapegoat whenever things go awry... In the Balto 2 & 3 case, it just happened to be Aleu and Stella. ^^ When people see a movie, read a book, or watch a show, they're constantly looking for characters that always seem to destroy it for THEM (them, being the individual, not the movie/book/show/etc. as a whole). It's irrational, yes, but it also provides people with a kind of outlet to say why they disliked a certain media... That, and sometimes, they just go with the flow and hate characters simply because a lot of othe people do.
...the literary term for it's called a Bandwagon Appeal Fallacy. An erroneous logic pattern, indeed. I love the way you've put it. Very logical indeed, and at the same time it's true.

I am too getting annoyed with this I hate Aleu or I hate ect.... I mean, serisously people, it's not real life, and since it's not real life, it's not going to hurt you. The hating people are only hating on their selves, since they're not real characters, and the fictional characters (Aleu) are just illusions in their minds, creating them to react to nothing but a tiny, worthless thought. Also, the people obviosious hasn't walked in that character's shoes for a mile (or paws, how ever you like to put it ), so they don't know how the characters life or personality really is, such it's just fictitional. I mean, the I HATE ALEU people are always saying that she is a baby, is so immature, or just so naughty towards her father. Can you people be a little more specicfic, because that's how teenagers or before teenagers usually act toward their parents. Also, I know people who act nasty toward their parents, and at least Aleu started to love them again. But oh well, this is just my opinion I am stating for myself and to others.

To 'dislike' or as you say 'hate' (some people should really take some time to think about the meaning of those four letters) a character does not mean that they have to have done something bad such as killing someone (multiple people here seem to hold that view). In order to dislike something, one must simply be able to dislike it, whether it's a vicious killer or a sunlight absorbing flower. When you want to communicate your dislike, you must present people with the reason for your dislike, because they cannot read your mind.
Whatever reason anyone has for hating a character, everyone has the right to express their opinion, in critical and appropriate fashion. Wouldn't one rather have people respect you for your opinions, not disrespect you for your 'rants' or 'prejudices'? Coincidentially, 'prejudice' is opinion without judgment.
One thing that cannot go unnoticed here and which has become confusing: A lot of people here are abusing the term 'opinion' to tears.
"Opinion" is an evaluation and judgment of something. It is a view of something brought up to interpretation (when voiced or otherwise), to be proven false or true. If it is proven true, it becomes fact. Looking at this at a basic level: fact seems such a strong and indisputable word; if one looks at the correlation between 'opinon' and 'fact', shouldn't one be inclined to handle 'opinion' as "potential factual material"? Should one not be embarassed, if one does not do so?
As someone mentioned, many people still get into 'I hate Aleu' spam (yes, the way it has been, it is spam, not opinion) knowing that they will recieve responses just as primitively stripped of sophistication, and they actually want this. Part of this must be our dear old friend - a set of impulses and desires of human nature. A more obvious part, (as Suka already said) the Bandwagon Fallacy or argumentum ad populum (appeal to the people). It's no breaking news that many people harbour dislike for Aleu and Stella, and seemingly this whole discussion (which it was back then) started years ago. However, then the discussion seemed quite a bit more qualitative and meaningful. Thereafter many members just went 'with the flow' propagating a conclusion with no premises (how does that make sense? It doesn't). Seems that most of these members do not even know why they hate Aleu. Some of them haven't even given the why component a single thought.
If you cannot support your opinion, I do not want to hear it. To be honest, in the part of the world where you would most like to be respected, the attitude is the same. And why not? Not to mention those, who choose to yell back at the original yellers. What do you achieve? Life is short, why waste it by trying to argue a point that is not arguable? If someone throws out such a 'sharp' claim in CAPS, there is no way that they want a discussion. Sadly, their version of success is you reading '3' words, which, after a while not long at all, simply become devoid of their disposition (both in the visual and emotional sense).
