Why do I like Balto?
..It all started when my parents decided to get a Siberian husky in '93 (which was of course before the Balto moive). Then when I first saw the Balto movie, I loved it. I always seemed to love Siberian huskies, dog mushing, winter, and wolves. So the reason why I like Balto is because I love Siberian huskies, and I also love the history. But now that my Siberian husky is gone, it pretty much makes me sad watching Balto..

There are so many reasons, but I have to say that I love dogs, I love wolves. Balto is a wolf-dog so...

I have no idea! There's just such beauty in it and a whole lot of effort and heart put into it. It's just a beauty movie.

I like it for a lot of reasons. It has a wonderful love story between Balto and Jenna, it's the story of an outcast who becomes the town hero, it's beautifully animated, the music is really, really good, and it features anthropomorphized dogs/wolves. What's not to like, I ask you?

Balto's always been my favorite movie character; don't ask me why. I think it's because normally the hero is a "big-shot" with seemingly nothing to lose and a lot of girls (if the hero's a guy XD) crowded around him. Balto is such an emotional character, it makes you feel what he's feeling. He doesn't say everything he's thinking (in the first movie, anyway), but somehow you can feel what he's implying. It's kind of hard to explain, but that's why I love Balto so much - cuz he's just awesome!!!

I was a kid when I seen it. The only reason I wanted to see it is because of Jenna. <3

Okay, firstly I love wolves; I always thought that they were beautiful creatures and I love the way they howl. However, I observed that wolves were generally portrayed as the 'baddies' which I thought was unfair. So when I heard that Balto was half wolf and a good character I wanted to see this film. I watched it on youtube and just fell in love with it. It had great music, great animation, the characters worked well with the plot and it was just fantastic. I also love the sequals, I know that they're not as good as the origional, but I especially like Aleu because I can really relate to her. Plus all the good characters are kinda cute!
I wasn't too keen on the opening and closing scenes because I didn't think they worked as the rest of the film was animated and I thought that the grandmother was Rosie was a bit cheesy and it's been used so many times before.
So that it why I love Balto (okay, long post)

Dragon Tamer wrote: I've always had a special affinity for animals (and I was somewhat of an outcast at various times in my life, which helped me relate to Balto), but what really drew me to Balto was the fact that it had a really solid moral foundation. You don't see much of that in movies these days. I agree. I think that someone should use the song 'God Help the Outcasts' from 'the Hunchback of Notre Dame' on Balto. About the morals in movies, I have two points on that subject, firstly the people who work in films today probably aren't going to change which leads me on to the second point is that it's up to people of my generation and our children to create good movies; it is often taught that we are the future. Let's hope that some people in my generation make films with morals. I hope that my future contribution will be to encourage people to make good movies, write novels full of morals, preserve and make sure that people know about the past.
