Those things are neat. But, I think there a bit to fancy. A small simple tablet works just as good as a fancy one. What's the difference?

They are fancy, look at the size, it's big as an LCD screen. (not to mention it displays your screen on it!) Also, the pen pressure is a lot more sensitive than a small tablet's (cant remember exactly). Sure, fancy, pretty, colorfull and big doesn't mean it works for good. It hits the crap sooner or later. (not to mention it's price... pretty atrocious) However, for beginners or people who don't make art for living or non-professionals, the small tablets are good enough.

I bought a Tablet a few weeks ago; it's a Trust one 'cause I couldn't afford anything very expensive. Surprisingly I actually am really struggling with it and have just put it away at the moment. o.O I thought I'd find it much easier but actually the mouse is my best friend it seems. I can't part with it! xD Ah well... I guess everyone's different and who knows, maybe I'll figure it out someday, but for now I'll stick to my mouse. :P

The best brands are, wacoms. I'm not sure but, I think the bamboo fun tablet is the newest one. My wacom is pretty good. no problems.

Well for beginers I would suggest a small tablet. Brand: Wacom (obviously).
But don't go and throw your money for expensive tablets just cuz they look fancy n' stuff...

Seconded.

Beginning artists with tablets should start with the 4"x6" or at most a 6"x8" tablet, because you don't need all the extra space and "Ooh... 'mazing features" scheme. WACOM is a dependable band (well..asuming what model you get), but believe me, you don't need to go spend $399.99 or $589.99 on a tablet you may sparingly use or just for fun. I use an WACOM Intuos3 12" x 12" Professional Tablet because I need it for working in a professional work field. There is a substantial difference between the two.

Suggestions:
Bamboo Fun Small/Medium Sizes

Well, I just went ahead and got a Wacom Bamboo (not Fun) because I figured that if I really liked it, then I'd save up and buy myself a more expensive one XD

Amaterasu--> Your tablet is awesome ^^

Yeah... and they lowered the price on it too. D<

But hey, my EW-Supervisor was generous enough to allow me to use the company state tax exempt ID and business card. Of course I had to pay for it myself, it's just I got it from WACOM Co. at 20% cheaper than retail. Yay! Sometimes I have to admit that I wuv my job. :3
