Very good. And of course you may take over Dingo. Well, like Balto said, let's get started, since no one wants to join right now. I guess when certain charas are needed, we'll just pick them up as we go along.

Erm. . . Jenna. There's also several dogs from the sled team. They spent their entire days together, so there's no doubt Kodi was close with them. Anyway, on we go.

'My son is dead. . .' There was little else on the mind of a large and slightly aged wolfdog. Balto was taking the news of his son's death rather hard. He couldn't exactly blame any of it on himself. He was, in no way, associated with his son's death. Apart from being informed about the tragedy that had befallen his son, then discovering his motionless body on the porch of his owners, he had pratically been oblivious to the suffering that Kodi was enduring. Several emotions came to mind when he thought about how his son was too young to die and that his life had been taken from him by some rabid street dogs. Or Wolves. He didn't know who was to blame for doing that to Kodi, but he did know that he wanted to track them down and make sure they pay for what they did.

He had mourned his son just as everyone else close to Kodi, but he'd gone into state that was close to shock. While he had never really been extremely close with Kodi, and he had to admit that he'd neglected to spend time with him when the chance came up, but he still cared for Kodi as a father. And Kodi's life had ended so abrubtly is was next to unbelievable. He had alot of life in him. There were so many great things about Kodi, he couldn't fathom what could have driven those who did that to Kodi to beat him to that point.

Balto was sitting outside in one of his usual spots. The boat that wreacked ashore some time ago. At this point, the boat wasn't in such good shape. It was unsteady and didn't have much time left before it collapsed entirely. Nails had rusted to cumbles from the constant water and several boards were missing from the deck. Many were cracked and several had fallen in.
The place had changed from a quiet refuge for Balto, to a rather dangerous spot to be.

Balto sat, balanced, on top of the railing around the boat. Staring out into the distance. His mind lost in his musings about his son. Now that he acctually thought about it, he didn't have nearly as many memories as he'd like to have with his son.
The only movement that Balto made for some time was the blinking of his eyes and his ears. Shifting around everytime he heard a sound.

Thanks for the tips! ^^

Dingo couldn’t think about anything other than his brother, Kodi. He had taken the news of his death rather hard and couldn’t think about anything else. He wanted to run, run away from his problems, run away from himself, but no matter how fast he ran he could not escape his thoughts. Maybe if he had been there, he could have prevented it. Or it could have been him instead. He was after all, the oldest, and Kodi the youngest. He shook his head, it was all too confusing.

Without realising, Dingo had reached the beach. So wrapped up in his thoughts, he hadn’t noticed until he felt the cool water touch his paws. It reminded him of the times at the beach with his siblings as pups, with Kodi, with Saba. A tear slid down his furry cheek as another question entered his puzzled mind. It haunted him night and day; he couldn’t sleep for thinking about it. Had Saba really killed Kodi? It didn’t seem like a think his sister would do. He was falling into a deeper and deeper hole of depression. He started a full on bolt along the water’s edge to try and escape it. However, no matter how hard someone tries, they cannot run away from their problems and eventually they must be solved. Dingo knew this and halted. He was out of breath and panting heavily. He looked up, there was a small shape on the horizon. It looked like his father’s shipwrecked boat. He squinted his eyes but he couldn’t be sure. He padded along slowly to see if it was his father. Although, he hadn’t been particularly close to his father as a pup, he decided to see how he was coping with the recent and horrific news.

(OOC: I wasn't sure how long this would be set after Kodi's death. If it should be longer/shorter, I'll edit the post)

Dusty lay listless on the wooden floor boards of a small cottage in town. Her once bright blue eyes almost seemed to have taken on a glaze as of late, and this appearance was only added to by the fact that she would stare at nothing, barely even bothering to blink. She'd been almost comatose like this since that horrible morning when the doctors had euthanized Kodi. After she'd left Kodi's house that fateful night, she'd ran until her legs burned and ached, until her breath came ragged, both from the effort and from her intense sobbing. But despite the pain, she didn't stop for hours. Eventually, she passed out from the strain. Kirby and Ralph had found her the next day, collapsed on the beach with the waves rolling in against her limp body.

Ever since then, when they'd brought her home to their master, she hadn't moved and any meals had to be either forcefed to her or thrown away. Her willpower to eat, to run, to socialize with the others, all of it just seemed to have vanished. Sure, the others had taken it hard, but none quite as hard as she had. Kirby and Ralph occasionally tried to cheer her up, but their efforts were never rewarded. And even though they tried to brighten her mood, they still weren't sure why she'd literally broken down. Only Balto knew of the short-lived relationship that had finally developed between the two teammates.

The worst thing about Dusty's inactivity was that she was pretty much the last person to have spoken to Kodi. Sure, his father had been with him, and Max had, for a little bit. But Dusty had found him, rescued him, and then watched him die. She and Balto were the only ones who knew the truth in its entirety about what had happened to Kodi. But because of her abscence, she had no idea about the accusations that had been placed on Saba, or even what the rest of the town was thinking. It seemed no one in the town really knew what to think about Kodi's death, and Dusty's devestation and solitude only seemed to be making their suspicions worse. After all, why else might she refuse to move unless she feared retribution from Saba?

Ralph padded quietly up to Dusty, a meek smile on his face. "Hey, Dusty. Wanna go chase some geese? I hear they give you a real test of your skills. Come on, you haven't moved a muscle in weeks!" But when, as usual, she didn't bother to answer, he frowned and sighed. "You can't just sit there and watch your life pass by. Do you think he'd want you to waste away like this?" Without waiting for a response, he turned on his heel and padded outside.

But something in Dusty's mind seemed to have clicked when Ralph had mentioned Kodi. The wheels began turning and thoughts slowly began to trickle out of her mind after what felt to it like centuries of emptyness. 'Kodi...' A pang of despair swept over her and though she didn't move, her eyes began to water. 'No...there's no point...waste away...he'd want you...' The thoughts were fragmented and they carried little meaning that even she could decipher. But even despite this, the tears began to stream down her face again, as her mind slowly began to wake from its daze and the grief fell on her full blast once more.

I think everyone just likes Kodi so much they don't wanna think of him as dead.

While Balto lay outside on the mass of wooden studs and beams that remained of the boat, lost in his thoughts and caught up in the grief he felt, knowing Kodi had passed on, his mate, Jenna, remained at home. Doing the same exact thing. But while Balto still maintained a grip of reality, even though he'd been rather distant the last few days, Jenna hadn't stopped crying since the news of Kodi's death had reached her ears.

As soon as Balto entered their home and delivered the horrible news, her whole body had gone numb. Then tears began to fall. The loss was so great that everyone was feeling the dispair of losing such a kind friend. But Jenna was his mother. With the way she was handeling it, Balto couldn't imagine any other dog taking it harder than her(but he doesn't yet know about how Dusty is doing).

He still hadn't checked on Dusty to see how she was holding up. He was one of the few dogs who knew about her and Kodi's very brief relationship together. Shortly before Kodi's life ended, they had both confessed their true feelings for each other.

The scent of another dog reached his nose just then. This provoked him to move for the first time in a few hours. It was a small motion, but a movement nonetheless. Looking down the beach in the direction of the scent, he saw another one of his offspring. Dingo was padding this way.

It was clear to Dingo as he stared at his father’s unmoving body, his gaze transfixed on the ocean, that he was taking the news very hard indeed. As an animal of few words, he decided to climb up the steps that lead to the boat and sit beside his father, saying absolutely nothing. He was sure Balto would feel some sort of comfort just feeling his presence, or he hoped so anyhow. He stared at the deep blue waves rolling and turning until they turned to white as they hit the shore.

Shifting uncomfortably, Dingo thought of something suitable to say. He had never been very good with words. One of the main reasons he never spoke much. He looked at the old wolfdog sitting next to him. His greyish brown fur was starting to turn silver with age and he looked very tired. Dingo guessed it was from lack of sleep, he too was suffering from it. He could only think that if his father was suffering this much, how would his poor mother be?

He stared once more at the gentle waves rolling into the shore. It was soothing, making him feel tired. Dingo yawned. He had hardly been sleeping because Kodi was constantly on his mind. He tried to think about other things, but there was nothing else to think about. He sighed and once more, looked out at the blue ocean that stretched out in front of him.

Balto had noticed Dingo was headed his way, but said nothing. He didn't even say anything to his son when Dingo joined him on the boat. But, neither did Dingo. The male husky simply sat down beside him, and watched the waves rise and fall over the beach. Balto's eyes, however, were focused on the sight out in the distance. There was nothing going on out there, but the pattern of waves. He was wondering if Dingo planned on saying anything, but when the silence continued on, he assumed that Dingo felt there were no words needed to be spoken. They both knew what was on each other's minds. Kodi. While he knew there was no reason to waste the rest of his life griving over the loss of Kodi, he couldn't help but mourn for him.

He felt exhausted. Sleep came very hard and whenever he was asleep, he could never manage to stay asleep long enough to get any rest. After trying in vain for nearly an hour, he finally gave up and came out here to enjoy some of the quietness. All looking out into this vast ocean did for Balto was steer his thoughts back onto the one thing that had been floating in his head for the last few days. Kodi.

He'd been out here on this boat all day, and his stomach ached with hunger, but he felt no desire to eat. Not when he couldn't even get Jenna to eat. She was starving herself sick. He was upset about losing his son, but Jenna was getting worse and worse everyday. "Dingo. . ." he finally spoke, sitting straight up and turning to face the male dog "I need to go check on your mother." There was nothing else he could say. So, jumping down from the side, he started to walk off toward Nome. He didn't make it far though.

Almost immediatly his vision was blocked by a mass of dark red fur. He felt his shoulder dampen and could her the chokes and sobs. "Jenna!" Balto gasped, surprised to see that she was outside the house. Lately, she'd been crying herself to sleep everynight and laying around all day long. To see her outside, and the fact that she'd come to him this time was a surprise to Balto. "Jenna, calm down." He spoke slowly, though loud enough for her to hear over her sobs. She looked like she hadn't slept in days and the lack of food was showing on her. She was extremely thin. As she sat next to him, Balto could see her ribs beneath the skin. Not to mention so much of the beauty in her eyes that he'd fallen in love with had vanished. He expected her to take this hard, as it was her and his son, but she was going to kill herself if she didn't get better soon. And he didn't think he could live after that. Living without Jenna had no purpose in Balto's eyes. She was the only thing left in his life.

Dingo turned his head when his father finally spoke. He could see the pain in Balto’s eyes. As he watched his father turned to leave, a familiar figure appeared. Except this time, his mother did not look so familiar. Her pretty face was bony, her fur had lost that healthy look it once had, her thin figure was now extremely skinny, and there was no sign of life in her eyes. They portrayed the same as Balto’s eyes: pain, grief, and mourning. Dingo was shocked at the state of his mother. As much as he feared to admit it, Jenna looked on the edge of death.

She gripped his father tightly, tears streaming down her face. Dingo wanted to go and comfort her, make her feel better, but he held back. His father seemed to be doing a good job without him. Sensing he was not needed, Dingo silently left. He was in shock. His mother had always been so pretty and full of life. He had never seen her like this before and it scared him.

As he wandered along the edge of the beach, he wondered what he should do next. Glancing back, he wondered if he should have at least spoken to Jenna. It might have made him feel better. He hadn’t even known why he’d wanted to leave. Then the answer hit him: fear. He was scared, scared that his mother was dying, so scared he couldn’t even face seeing her. Dingo felt like a coward but he could not help it. He couldn’t bear losing his beloved mother, not after… Kodi. Tears welled up in his eyes, and before he could stop them, streamed down his furry cheeks.

While I wouldn't mind continuing this RP, I think we should restart. Not only is this thread rather old, but it seems that everyone is just overly depressed. Naturally, Dusty is going to as upset as she is when Kodi died just after they confessed their feelings for each other.

I can see everyone being sad about what happened to Kodi, but i think it got too exageratted. It's just my opinion on it, but what do you think?
