I have a lot of characters, but here are my more interesting ones.

Sitka: Named after Sitka from the Disney movie Brother Bear, but it's also a place in Alaska. I'm not sure what it means though.

Tovah: Tovah is Hebrew form of the word 'Good'. I named her that because I wanted to make a better version of Aleu when I created the character, and it wouldn't hurt to be reminded that she's a good (and different) character.

Ewan: Guilty as charged, he's named after the scottish actor Ewan McGregor. I was on a Star Wars kick for a long while, and you have to hand it to him, he did a super job in portraying a younger Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ewan means Youth. Ironic, eh?

Orde: Named after a Birtish army Captain in a book serise that I love: The Zion Covenant Serise. I have no idea what Orde means, so don't ask. (I was going to name him Liam at first, as a nod to Liam Neeson - a great actor - but Liam sounded sorta weird on a dog.) Edit: Orde's full name is 'Order', but he prefers to keep it to himself and not let anyone else know that.

Samson: Named after the strong man from the Bible. As the runt of the litter, he needed a strong name to remind everyone he wasn't as weak as some may think.

Ellie: I chose the name because it sounded soft and shy, and it reflected her personality.

Tag: Named at random. Not all dog names make sense, do they?

Barrow: Also a place in Alaska.

Celeste: As beautiful as the heavens, I figured Jenna would have gotten her good looks somewhere.

Hmm...I have more, but none of them are really interesting. Oh well.

I have loads of characters, but here are just the main ones from Balto Source. There's FF.net, but that's not important.

Rex- From Babe. I was looking for films to get dog names off and I thought, my main character should be Rex. They're a bit alike if you ask me. You annoy him, you get injured like Fly did.

Soul- I was thinking of naming her Sol, meaning Sun, but that just didn't fit her. Plus, have you ever met a dog called Soul?

Nita- Okay, I was thinking about Brother Bear 2 when I was searching for a new name for her. She was meant to be Malu, but when I found out it meant body tattoo, I was disgusted and got rid of it. She's meant to have the strength of a bear too, seeing as Nita means bear.

Lisa- From The Simpsons.

Cop- Was first Copper, but thought that it was too much like redwolf03's character. I looked at The Fox and the Hound and I think Todd once called Cooper, Cop as a nickname and it stuck.

Kiara- I was in a Lion King 2 faze at the time and thought of this.

Sitka- Brother bear. They both fall of cliffs early in the story, but my Sitka survives.

Fang- A common German Shepherd name where I come from. Also a good police dog name. I never mentioned that he was a retired cheif police dog, did I?

Fly- From Babe. Was once Lizzy, but I then found out I hate that name. It's my old nickname, so if you want a death wish, then call me that. LOL.

Pablo- Oh, boy. I never thought I would mention this creep's name again. It's a Spanish name, I like Spain. Add 2 and 2 together.

Isabella- My first character name. Was meant to be for a character on FF.net, but I changed it and thought that Soul's mother needed a great name. It would've been something like Jochebed or a shortened version, but it seemed too religious and would probably cause a flame war. Not a good idea.

Howler- I thought of this name after I named his pack, the Lunar pack. Seeing as wolves howl to the moon... well, I'm sure you get the point.

Okay, that's the main characters. The whole list is way too long for me to repeat. Also, the Shadow pack names mainly mean shadows, darkness, stranger or evil. Some are just pointless names I made up like Siaira.

Kelev --> I would have guess "Orde" was short for "Order" (as in law and order), since he's a police dog.

Hmmm.

Main Chars/Alter Ego's/Fursona's whatever the hell you wanna call them XD

Daisy: My 1st name. XD She's my fursona, and I like the name...so why not? It also means 'flower of the day' or something, but that's not important

Secondary, RP Characters

Summer: A name picked at random...her main pelt colour is cream, and it reminds me of Summer, so I called her that

Ghost: Another name picked at random. I just love it, because ghosts frighten me...I wanted something somewhat intimidating for this bada*s character. Even though it doesn't suit her at all, but it's kinda stuck XD

Kestrel: Named after a character from a wonderful book I read: 'The Wind Singer'. The main girl in it was called 'Kestrel' and I instantly fell in love with the name XD

Brett: A boy's name I've always had a liking too. And it suits him XD

Deacon: A name from a dog on Nintendogs who doesn't belong to me It just sounds cool

Slyk: A name sortof made-up...I just randomely said it while thinking up a name, and loved how it sonded, so I decided to give it to a villain in a very possible fic collab...

Vanessa: A girl's name I don't particuarly like, but it definetely suited the character I gave it too

Carly: One of my favourite girl's names. Couldn't resist

Rita: Named after a sweet young fox from the films 'Jungledyret Hugo 1 & 2' aka 'Go Hugo Go' and 'Hugo The Movie Star'.

Anna May: it just sounds su cute and sweet and shy, like the char XD

Scout: Dunno where it came from...I was browing through TLKS and the name suddenly appeared on artwork or something. And I fell in love with it. Everything about it sounds awesome.

I never thought of it before, but it could be like that for him, couldn't it? (Clever thinking, DT! I think I just may use that for him.) I actually got the name from 'Captain Samuel Orde'. In the book he was nearly aslways refered to as 'Orde' , so that's where I got the name from. But 'Order' is pretty good too. (After all, how many dogs are named that on BS? )

It is original, isn't it? And Orde certainly is a strong personality. Diverse, too. His name may sound like "Order," but he's going to be causing quite a bit of disorder in a certain fanfic.

Yeah, it is a popular name. I've always tried to make my character names have something to do with Alaska. Also, Sitka's uncle is called Kenai, also a town in Alaska. I didn't know Beauty_Jenna had one too.

My other characters which I forgot.

Kahlua: I originally saw it in a CSI episode. It was the name of a Golden Retriever. Since it sounded Hawaiian, which fits my surfer dude Thylacine, I gave him that name.

Ozzie: How "Aussie" is really pronounced.

Hachikou: After a famous Akita.

Donna, Cyrus: Random

Akapunta: A turtle that holds the world on its back. Hindu mythology.

Dhobar: In Gaellic mythology, the Dhobar-Chu is a water hound.

Jersey: After the Jersey Devil.

Sora-kun: She's my (female) fursona, so her name came from my real self. Two parter!
Sora- My nickname offline since I'm a rabid Kingdom Hearts fangirl.
Kun- The Japanese suffix for boys. For some reason I get mistaken as a boy all the time.
Hence Sora-kun.

Get Ready xD

Aska- I can't exactly remember. I heard it somewhere before but I can't remember. All I know is it's Japanese and I thought it sounded pretty
Mifune- Named after the Japanse actor, Toshiro Mifune (RIP) My boyfriend gave me the name ^^
Shakespeare and Mozart- Named after my favorite meerkats from Meerkat Manor
Marie- After lyrics to the song "Cancer" by My Chemical Romance "Call my Aunt Marie"
Odin- The chief God of Norse mythology
Bounty- I kinda just thought "Bounty Hunter" since she's got a ruthless personality like some bounty hunters
Lola- She was adopted, so I didn't really have any say in the name. I think it sounded cute though
Grey- Also adopted. He's got three different shade of grey in him, so the name fits
Aala- means she who hunts and heals
Taboo- Adopted char xD Didn't have a name though. I think it means forbidden. Named so because she has a sort of "Can't touch this cuz I'm better than you" attitude
Othello- He was adopted but he didn't have a name. He's white with black spots and it reminded me of the pieces of the game xD
Rounder- It doesn't really have any meaning to it. I just wanted him to have a unique name
Windsong- Pretty sounding name for a pretty wolf And she's pretty fluid when it comes to movement
Burton- Named after two people : Tim Burton and the keyboardist Burton from the band HIM
Sandy- Adopted char. She has sandy coloured fur.
Meier- Named for the villian in Vampire Hunter D, Meier Link
Rono- Can't remember. Adopted him too, but I choose the name.
Novak- Means newcomer in German
Stikaiya- Don't know the meaning. I heard it on Animal Planet though xD
Wakanda- Means possess magical powers. Her name kinda suits her cuz her personality is like magic
William- Named after his father Shakespeare by their owner
Kota- I can't remember his meaning either >< It was something like "friend" though
Tokala- Means "fox" He was a very cunning character, like a fox
Nathan- Named after the lead singer of Dethklok from Metalocalypse.
Orbi- Named after Roy Orbinson.
Ivy- Came with the name when I adopted her. I just say its beacuse of her eyes
Carmine- named after my cousin's grandfather. Means vineyard in Italian
Dani- Inspired by lead singer Dani Filth of Cradle of Filth.
Ricky- Adopted with that name. It sounded like a ladies man's name to me, and that's what he is xD
Flyer- She's a Papillon. Her ears are shaped like a buutterfly's so when she runs it kinda looks like she's flying
Buck- His colors reminded me of wheat so...yeah...
Boomtown- He needed a powerful name xD
Kasia- Named after my best friend. She's awesome^^
Autumn- Her colors are pretty autumny

Well, It actullay took me awhile to come up with a few of the names.

Silver: kinda obvius, shes silver

Tora(big sister): Tora the tornado

Thunder(big brother): it sounded big and tough, and yet hes nothing like that

Boltz: He has a lighting shaped mark on his forehead and he's fast

Comet: he has a lighting shaped mark behind his left eye and hes black(he actully has the same name as my goat, hehe.)

Luna: The black patch around her eye kinda looks like a moon

Storm(dad/alpha): my neighbor has a horse named Storm, and Storms based off him, and I like it

Lighting(mom/alphafemale): Named for the her birth mark, a lighting bolt

Opal(Lightings sis): Well, not sure why, but I wanted her name to be somewhat simalur to her color swapped twin bro.

Onyx(Lightings bro): Same as Opal

Amethyst(Lightings other bro): Umm, I like it?

Nova(Storms sis): I honestly have no clue why I named her that

Navo(Storms bro): Again, I have no clue why I named him that

Riya(Storms other sis): Named after her grandmother, Brook. Instead of river, I went with Riya.

Anya(Storms mom): No clue how I came up with that, probley after Aniu

Koa(Storms dad): it's a type of wood I think, I like how it sounds

Shadow(Silver's mate): well, he's light grey and has darker grey markings, like a shadow kinda

Slayer(evil wolf who has a love intrest in Silver and deserves to die!): the name suits his personality perfectly -_-

Warrior(Slayers mom): had to go with her mates name

Fighter(Slayers dad): he's a cruel, heartless, evil fighter

Sonya: I think it means sun or somthing

Ron(Sonyas bro): yes, named after Ron Stopable from Kim Possible

Rusty(Sonyas bro): his fur is rust colored

Ruko(Sonyas bro): no idea, came up with it on a whim

Goldie(Sonyas sis): her furs gold

Tina(Sonyas sis): I like it

Autum(Sonyas sis): uh, um, not sure really

Angie(Sonyas mom): was going to be Angel, but my little brothers cat had that name, and I didn't want a character with the exzact same name

Tiko(Sonyas dad): we have a black cat called Niko, but we where going to call him Tiko. I liked the name

Talto(pup from Balto and Jennas 2nd litter, Sonyas mate): It's a indian name meaning 'ground squirrel' I think, I like how it sounds

Duke(Taltos bro): eh, not sure

Daisy(Taltos sis): after the flower

Fawn(Taltos sis): her furs kinda fawnish colored and she reminds me of one, being timid and gentle and stuff

Trixy(Sonyas friend): uh, dunno

Snow(Sonyas friend): her fur is mostly white

Dandy(Taltos friend): his dad is Dander, so Dandy seemed fitting

Joe(Taltos friend, Dandys bro): uh, it goes with Dandy?

Jenny(Angies owner): came up on a whim

Cindy(Tikos owner): again, came up on a whim

April(Sonyas owner): I like the name

Chris(Taltos owner): named after a my little brothers BFF(dunno why I did, but I did)

Slate(Taltos rival, has a love intrest in Sonya): ugh, don't really care, didn't want iron or some kind of metal, so I went with the stuff chalkboards are made out of

Missy(Sonyas rival, has a love intrest in Talto and Slate): named after this girl at school who is just like her(minus the fact that she doesn't flirt as much)

Sarah(Missy's friend): it suited her

Rachel(ex-friend of Missy and Dandys mate): was origanly named after this girl I met on a trip that was just plain, uh, hmm, don't know the right word for it but I defently didn't like her. I didn't plan on doing much with her, but she started to grow on me, so now shes named after a dog my mom had when she was little(the origanal name was spelled different).

I won't bother with the rest of them.
