Colton saw her smack the doberman across the face and then emerged in his body guard uniform snarling at the other males who wanted Miley. "Alright guys calm down now otherwise you'll be suffering the same fate as the last got it" he said and bared his sharp fangs at them as they all started to back away slowly and went along with their normal buisness. No one else gave a second look him and then he sat in front of Miley. "Are you ok they will not bother you" he said as the score board appeared and the bottom forty left the arena to not compete another day.

"Yes I should have realized that I'm sorry" he said and then looked at the scores noticing that Miley was in the top ten. "Very nice work there Miley now the next round isn't about beauty but more about brute strength and speed as you tackle an obstacle course" Colton said as they left the stadium into a quiet diner nearby where dogs were allowed into a special section in the back. He ordered for both of them and then brought out his scanner. "Well let's summarize what we know so far. One, this mafia makes it's money off the dogs with the least odds. Two, these dogs are give plastic surgery during the course of the competion" he said gesturing for her to add to the list.

"Well you'll get your chance those who are going on to the next round get two days rest before having to start again" Colton said and tipped the waiter leaving the diner and its... eccentric inhabitants as they went back to base pushing aside the massive prop. But as they went inside Colton felt a small pang in his heart he was attracted to Miley was that why he protected her at the dog show? He didn't know, he had no idea "Hey Miley you want to take the first watch this evening or do you want me to" he asked.

Colton nodded lying in his bed his mind in other places but wanted to ask a quick question before she left to be on watch. "M... Miley I know this is kind of a werid question to ask you but do you h...hate me or um... do you have some sort of friendship and maybe crush" he asked nervously hoping to not be punched.

Colton was unsure because to him, Miley's answer was very vague to him and in his own mind he kind of liked that. "U... uh no because I well I kind of like you maybe more than I know" he stammered fumbling over his own words. "I mean even though you are not supposed to emotionally attached to your partner as code for the police officer I want to know you more Miley" he blushed slightly trying to share a moment with but knew he was failing miserably.

The love-struck rookie curled into a furry ball with his tail touching his nose as he tried to fall asleep but kept worrying about Miley. It was the same feeling he had when he was a pup and abandoned out in the streets with his mother as she struggled to feed him then one she was shot and he along with his brother were alone. That was why Colton was protective of Miley he didn't want same thing to happen again.

He nodded and crept out of his bed first to raid the fridge then to stand watch where at first the hours passed by very slowly and Colton polished off yogurt cup after yogurt cup but the he heard a crash and snarled running back into the base to wake Miley. "Miley stop dreaming about me and wake up someone just broke into the stadium" he said sarcastically trying to roll her over.
