Since I don't watch the Balto movies with other people, because they're too personal for me to share, I admit I have teared up a few times. In Balto, it was at the end as Grandma Rosy says "Thank you Balto. I would have been lost without you" to Balto's statue in Central Park. James Horner's music had a bit to do with that too I think, since it was so appropriately sad right there.
In Wolf Quest, it was first when the pups were being adopted and Jenna began to cry. That made me cry. Then when Aleu told Balto "I'll always be your baby", and Balto thought back to when she was a puppy, that made me tear up a bit too.
In Wings of Change, I don't think any part of it made me cry.

I was too young to know when to cry when I first began to watch Balto...or maybe I just have a horrible sense of dramatic timing. But seriously, I think that if I'd watched Balto when I was older for the first time, I would've cried. I know for a fact that I wouldn't cry during either of the sequels. The only time I would have wanted to was during Balto II when Balto cries. I wasn't sad when Aleu left, like everyone else. I was actually HAPPY for her. LOL

Balto 1 was probably the most heartwarming for me when he howled with the white wolf and when he howled as a signal of return.

...my posts are getting redundant with all these emotional topics... -_- But to quote myself: Roi Doberwolf wrote: I only found it depressing a little after watching it once. It didn't last nor did I cry, but I found it sad that the great hero that inspired the movie was gone, and after reading what had happened to him and his team after the run, I thought it just was a shame...
The movie was touching on some levels. People were dying after all. And this REALLY happened. Though the movie didn't show actual deaths, the coffin scene alone was enough to show the severity of what was going on in Nome.
As far as the sequels, it's obvious. There's no life risking moments. And what little there might be is taken away with it's childish atmosphere. They're made to be purely for children. They just don't touch you like the first movie.

I teared up at the part with Aniu. That part always gets to me. It's just a powerful scene.
