I think Tani means deaths that are actually shown.

Dragon Tamer wrote: Drawolf wrote: no, but almost. there are some unrealistic things like a russian goose raised a wolfdog. but other than that, it's fantastic. even better than some recent Disney movies. Unless by "some recent Disney movies" you mean High School Musical, that doesn't say much in my opinion. But a snow goose raising a wolfdog isn't neccessarily that far-fetched (pardon the pun). Consider, for example, that a daschund once nursed a litter of piglets until they were weaned (rather painful for the dog, since piglets have somewhat sharper baby teeth than puppies do). Also, cats have been known to raise litters of puppies, timberwolf cubs, and even (strangely enough) rats and mice. I'm not sure about the canine litters, but if my research is correct the rodent litters in question were sometimes adopted by the cat without human interference. There was even a lioness in a wildlife park who would chase mother gazelles away from their babies and try to raise the babies herself! So a snow goose taking in a wolfdog is, if still quite unusual, certainly not outside the realm of possibility. On the topic of a goose raising a puppy, I don't find it too strange to believe. The lion with the gazelles...now that is just strange. I find Boris and Balto's senario more believeable then that, so there you are. Back to the real subject... I chose Non Disney classic, simply because Balto is (in my opinion) the best non disney movie I can think of at the moment other then the Prince of Egypt. Disney has a lot of great classics I like just as well as Balto, so really I have no absolute favorite out of them all.

Children actually dying isn't shown. The only potential death shown in the whole movie is the brown bear's.

The Brown Bear dies, like BetaWolf said. And I have to disagree with you Canis.Balto is one of my favourites but I really, really like TLK.It was the movie I watched since I was 6 months. It was my favourite movie(apart from some Butlins video brochure or whatever they call it,but thats not much of a movie) and it always will be.A ton of others come a close second though. Nice signature. And I think they're talking about the deaths of major characters, especially ones the audience is tied through via the main character (commonly known as the "Bambi's Mother" effect). BTW, nice signature. Can you make one with the male counterparts? (although that might not work so weel for Aleu)

Yes! In my opinion, it's the best animated movie to have ever been made, end of story! I've seen all the others...TLK and whatnot, but my love for those movies didn't stick around with me like my love for Balto did.

It's kinda hard to judge a single best animated movie because they all cover different things. But I think my favorite Disney creation has got to be Small One. Regrettably, I haven't seen it in years. But Bambi is a good runner-up.
