Is hunting any similar to dog slaughter? The only time I would slaughter something is with my dad's hunting gun. That is the only time I'd slaughter an animal or if it was bothering my future livestock.

"Slaughter" is such a strong word, I prefer hearing something else less horrible

there are other videos on You Tube about Dog Slaughter.

I've been to Vietnam before, and I did see some restaurant specialized in selling dogs (For food, of course), it's just horrible how they could do it to a dog (Which doesn't even know what's going on) but come to thing of it, we've also been killing other animals, not only dogs for food, we should have a wider view in this case, eating dogs may be a traditional thing for those countries, who knows *shrugs* you can't just come to them and say that you don't like the food they eat and they should stop it, the fact is that they will never stop it, eating dogs is like something very important for them, their tradition, the best thing to do is just cope with it, those countries wouldn't be the same without dog meat I think, you'll never be able to understand it. Asia is very different from Europe and other continents.

BTW, that video gives me the chills

Did you know that I was tricked into eating dog meat yesterday? :pale:

It's not a nice thought that you have eaten something that may have been killed so inhumanely, but I had the same thought :?

Seriously, I didn't know it was dog meat until my all-so "Lovely" neighbor told me that, I was like "OMG, yuck!", you don't even don't to know what it's like :shaking: *shudders*

People mostly use specially bred dogs for eating (bred for flavor, I guess). Unless there's a famine, family dogs usually don't get eaten.

Bingo! Family dogs are for loving, not for eating (Unless the owner has no hearts  )

Or unless you're starving. Chances are rather good that the (great)grandparents of anyone on this forum have, at one time or another (WWII, the Great Depresion,...) resorted to a rather unusual diet.

The strange thing is that food that are thought to be taboo by us are actually delicacies for them, I asked some of my Vietnamese friends and they said that they liked eating it with wine, I wished I could see it from their POV to know what's it like, I wonder who thought of dog meat as a food first :?
