Nu Metal translates literaly into Rap Metal. end of story so actualy tool could be loosly considered nu metal mudvayne is versy strongly nu metal, Korn And Rage Against The Machine are almost the definition of nu JMetal, Limp Bizkit is strongly Nu Metal, Orange nine milimeter is Strongly Nu Metal And Rage Against The Machines Good Friends What Was Formaly Coinelpro Is as Nu Metal As it Gets. System Of A Down Is Not Nu Metal even by a loose definition. Deftones is nu Metal Red is not Realy Rap Enough to be Nu Metal. As FAr As What Metal is Grey Is Right If The Genera has The Word metal in it it is Metal. That is Why That Word Is In The Genere Name. Metal in and of it self is a very very wide subject and the bands you listed do not fall under just metal but more specificaly under Classic Thrash Metal. With The Exception of Sepultura Who is more hard core political Thrash metal. On an unrelated note I have noticed that you have been judging music by The Decade That it came out or by the artist for the most part and i would like to make the point that music is not about the decade or the musician but the song. also i can tell you with the up most confidence as some one who knows several close friends of Rage Against The Machine That They would be insulted by someone who claims to be such a huge fan and identifies himself with them in his screen name to go around Judging musicians in that way as well as being very blatently rude to those who either like the musician or the style and Atempting To Make Them Look Like an idiot for it. So Until You Learn not to judge music and artist by their decade or style or people by theyer taste In music then Ai will not consider your points Valid. The definition of nu metal is pretty vague, but it doesn't mean rap-metal. Rap-metal did help to shape it, though. It's kind of like grunge: having a certain sound, but elements that characterize it are difficult to pin. Tool are more progressive metal than nu metal, and I will admit I do quite like Deftones. On a related note, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Black Sabbath could not be further from thrash. On ANOTHER related note, I guess I am pretty harsh about this stuff. Admittedly I enjoy arguments.  I am impressed. Your response drove your point far, but at the same time, was quite level-headed, and well thought out. Congrats.

I luv metl so much!! my faverit band is MCR, slayer, linkin park an dslipknot!
i like rage agauinst the machine 2 but ive only herd one song by them

This has turned into my nightmare thread. SMS, Rage haters, and nu metal fans... oh my.
By the way, Meteora, ten bucks says you don't like Rage because of the nasaly vocals. That or you just heard Killing in the Name (their WORST, but most famous song) the radio, and judge them by that.

Metal was known for having lyrics about drugs, sex, Rock n' Roll and about mystical stuff (Manowar) but now it's all Screaming and Killing and all that crap.
