I personally don't see how Yupik is abusing the rant board, as you accuse. This board is for talking about things that bother people. Yupik is not breaking any rules, and is not talking about deviant matters.

Ugh, I agree. I tend to see this more in newer members than older ones because members who have stayed here awhile have known the rules for quite some time. As of such I have seen people come on asking: How do I get to be a mod? and such as Being a mod is sooooo cool!!!! and Well, if I were a mod I would (explains suggestion and uses emoticons I agree Yupik, this is something that has not only bothered me, but other members. Good idea finally making a rant about this Yupik. It was worth while ;D

yupik wrote: Okay, I know it doesn't happen too often, but it is annoying. Doesn't it bother you when someone new or old, have never been to the shout box and they ask to be a mod? I mean, the answer is a definite no! Then that person is like " Oh. Thats so Unfair !! and I wanna be a mod (and uses several emoticons) Then, usually a shout box mod is there, and say no as well; And that person is STILL complaining. It's so annoying, but at first (for the new people), it's okay when they ask the first time, because they DON'T know. (Yet, they should know already, but somehow don't). It's the complaining that really makes me mad. Does it bother anyone else? yes yupik it bothers me a whole lot

The only way to become a mod is to earn it. Show that you're active and nice, with good jugdement, etc.
That's why we get these rant threads. People doesn't understand those qualifications, and annoy other people who complain about them in this section...
I wanna be a mod as well, but you can't see me begging for it, no?
Everyone wanna be a mod. I guess the mods wants to be administrators. And so on. It's an evil circle. Best way to deal with it is to ignore it.
