Why am I giving in to this? Why I ask????

Firstly thanks for calling me a drunk and saying all drinkers have no common sense, how bold of you -_- I honestly dont mind that comment as I dont care what you think of me but unfourtunatly I can't help but try to show you how wrong you are with your comments (I was sober at the time of making that post as well by the way.)

You think your one up on us cause you believe you know what punk is and we do not? Well firstly you gotta realise that we ain't ganging up on you to try to bring you down or something, believe us when we say you brought this on yourself.

Now the beautiful thing about punk is that there should be no real definition of it, except your always gunna get people telling you things like "Punk is being yourself", "Analysing punk makes you not punk", "you gotta squat and hop trains to be a punk", "Punk rock's a way of life" etc. Therefore I'm saying that if you want a written down detailed definition of punk then you aren't gunna get it, punk is way to opiniated.


I'll tell you what punk means to me though. Punk is unity and friendship, individualism and acceptence, standing up for what you believe in and saying a big f**k you to those who are against you. Punk ain't a trend and you can't ever buy into it, you have to live it. To me being a punk is standing behind your mates, never backing down, doing what you want, wearing whatever the hell you wanna wear and of course going down to a gig and having a good time, either knocking back a few beers with your mates or (preferrably) getting stuck into the pit.

The sad thing is that sometimes punk is just a trend for adolescent youths who think that by wearing a spikey belt and shouting at their parents that they don't understand who they are, that they are punk rock. This isn't punk and although many people say the first rule about punk is that there are no rules, they (unfourtunatly) are wrong as sooner or later they'll disagree with someone who thinks their punk and end up contradicting what they stood for in so many ways (seen it happen loads, I get sick of it.) It doesnt matter if your poor or rich, upper or working class cause Punk stands for individualism and at the same time unity.

Basically who can only get to decide what punk is? Me? Of course not, we're not on this board declaring ourselves gods of punk rock in any sort of way but believe me KrazyArc when I say that punk IS in fact a way of life despite the over used saying of it but it's true. So to see you come on here and tell us that Simple Plan, Green Day or any other pop band is the epitome of what punk is I have to say your just wrong. You can argue that I'm contradicting what I said about punk by labelling these bands as "not punk material" but believe me when I say they aint, they really just aint.
I'm kinda annoyed at myself for seeming like I'm overanalysing punk by giving this long winded speech about it but try to rememeber this is my opinion and all though you have your own that you believe in I can see that they are grounded in a completely different arguement to mine as your basing punk off what you see or what your told. These guys aint punk, why? money money money and popularity is the order of the day with them and even though they might have started in the right, they've all either forgotten or never known what it is to be a punk and it's lifestyle.

So for me I'm sayin the popular vote is right. But in a sense that for me isn't true, because I like my leader.
