This sounds pretty familiar... Is Balto friends with a pack of wolves? That's my idea. It doesn't really matter, I guess. I've seen several stories in which Balto is friends with a wolf or wolf pack.
Such as Cyberwof's character Kemo, for example.

Yes, I agree with Night Fang. When Balto finds out what Steele did to Jenna....ooh, is he gonna be MAD!

Yep... when Balto finds out what Steele has done to Jenna... we shall find Steele's leg in Tokyo, Japan... his other leg in New Yort, USA... His head in Newcastle, England... Yeah, Steele can say he's been around the world...

Chapter 6


Jenna woke up and half expected to see Balto sleeping soundly beside her. Then, she remembered what happened with Steele. Her head hurt considerably. She looked around and saw Sarafina sitting and eating a piece of meat.
“Hey, your awake.” Sarafina said. “You’re probably starving...here.” She gave Jenna a piece of meat.
“Uuhhg...How long was I out?” Jenna asked, gratefully accepting the food.
“About a day and a half. Steele really hit you hard.” Jenna looked surprised.
“A day and a half? Wow...I guess he did hit me hard. I hate him! Sarafina—“
“Call me Sara.” Sarafina interrupted.
“Ok...Sara, why do you even listen to Steele? He’s done nothing but cause you pain.” A tear rolled silently down Sara’s face.
“He’ll kill me...just like he killed Kota. I’d dread to think of what he’d do to me if he knew I was your friend.”
“You’re really risking a lot by doing this...aren’t you?” Jenna said, felling a little guilty. Sara nodded as her eyes started to tear up. Jenna couldn’t help but feel sorry for her.
“Hey,” Jenna said kindly, “It’s OK. We’ll find some way out of this mess.” Sara looked at Jenna with admiration.
“How can you stay so positive all the time? Steele said he was going to kill you.” Jenna smiled.
“You don’t know my Balto.” She said. “He’ll get us out of this.” Sara looked surprised.
“Balto? The Balto?” She asked. “He’s the one who saved that town from that disease a few years ago, right?”
“Yeah,” Jenna said with pride. “He’s amazing. We’ve been through a lot together.” There was the sound of someone approaching. ‘No...not again!’ Jenna thought, expecting to se Steele walking into the chamber. However, it was not Steele. It was a young male wolf.
“Sarafina...” He said with a raspy voice. “Steele wishes to speak with you.” Then he left.
“I gotta go.” Sara said.
“Good luck.” Jenna said worriedly. “And Sara...be careful.” Sara Smiled a little as she walked out of the room.
“You too.” Jenna couldn’t help but worrying about Sara. She remembered her words, ‘...I’d hate to think what Steele would do to me if he knew I was your friend…’ Jenna sighed and thought,
‘Help me, Balto. I need you.’

* * *

Sara walked into Steele’s chamber.
“You sent for me?” She asked.
“Yes.” Steele said, sounding annoyed. “I need you to do something for me.”
“I figured as much.” Sara replied sharply. “Now get to the point.”
“You will not give me orders!” Steele said, getting dangerously close to Sara’s face. “I’m the Alpha around here! You will do well to hold your toung!” He walked back to where he slept and lay down. “I need you to go to Nome and follow a certain dog. His name is Balto...perhaps you’ve heard of him?” Steele looked angry when he said Balto’s name. “You will follow him until he comes here...and he will. Do not question my reasoning.” He waited a moment to see if Sara would protest. When she didn’t he said, “Now...get out of my sight! I don’t want to see your face until Balto arrives!”
“Yes, your leadership.” Sara responded coldly and left the chamber. ‘I have to tell Jenna.’ She hurried to the chamber Jenna was being held in.
“Jenna, I have some bad news.” Jenna looked at her worriedly.
“What...What’s wrong?” Sara told Jenna what happened in Steele’s chambers. When she finished, tears welled up in Jenna’s eyes.
“But...if you leave, then I don’t stand a chance here!”
“That’s not entirely true.” Sara said. “Steele will want to keep you alive until he can capture Balto. Also, I’ve been thinking...you need a way to escape, and I think I’ve found one.” Jenna jumped up.
“Really!?! Tell me...please! I’ll do anything to get away from here!” Sara looked around nervously.
“SHHHHH! Not so loud!” She whispered.
“Sorry.” Jenna said, lowering her voice. “But you have to get me out of here!” Sara raised a paw.
“I know...just listen to me. Steele lets hi guards switch every three hours. During the time between when the guards leave and the new guards come is the time to escape. That’s going to happen in about twenty minutes. When you get out of this chamber, take two right turns in a row and that will get you to the back entrance. Head strait west until you get to Shishmaref.” Jenna couldn’t believe it.
“Shishmaref? That’s where I grew up! I know places where I can hide from Steele.” Sara smiled
“That’s great, but I Really need to get going. I wish you luck, Jenna.” And she was gone. Jenna now had more hope than ever before.
‘Thank-you, Sarafina!’

Sweet! I'm really starting to like Sarafina.
It just keeps getting better and better!

When I hear Sarafina's name, I always wonder if Nala would show up...

Oh well, now I'm back from band camp and must go back to writing!
