To be honest, I never cried or got upset when Bambi's mother died...until I saw the Spanish version of that scene (It was only months ago, it made me cry and I ran to my mom, and I was still 12 like I am now!). My gosh, in the Spanish version of that scene, Bambi sounded so sad and lost...I couldn't take it!
As for the "Burn 'em at stake." part in Peter Pan, I didn't know what it meant until I was like, 7, and I didn't really care about it then, either.

Kari wrote: Land Before Time - I find this series hypocritical. It is aimed at children much younger than Disney's audience, and yet, it has almost double the violence. The death of Littlefoot's mother and the constant encounters when the carnivorous dinosaurs proves this.
I'm always confused why people consider this movie aimed at a younger audience than Disney. For one, the violence and frightning scenes and secondly there's no songs. Seems more mature to me than most disney films.
Of course this doesn't extend to the sequels. Those (although fun) are trash which have sadly hurt the reputation of the original.

Recently, I was watching a clip from this Japanese film called "The Ringing Bell" and there was a snake and it, like, killed a mother bird with feathers flying around, and it was about to eat the eggs, and Chirin (main character; he's a sheep) fought the snake in attempt to save the eggs, but the nest fell on the ground and the eggs smashed. I found it disturbing.

I saw the beginning of that film...and it was perhaps the crappiest thing I've ever seen in my life. The only thing that disturbed me about it was that it was SO FAKE!!! I desperately wanted to KILL Chirin!!! He had the most AWFUL voice; and when he cried over his mother after she had died....I almost died, it was SO annoying!!! The boy who did his voice had the most fake voice I have EVER seen, and when he was crying...you literally could not get ANYTHING more fake then that! And yes, that was the American version. I'm PRAYING the Japanese version won't be as unbelievebly obnoxious or as fake...
As for 'disturbing' cartoons...South Park is EXTREMELY disturbing. Blood, insanely disgusting language, and VERY graphic sex/nudity...I'm not at all surprised that the 'Bigger, Longer & Un-Cut' film was a 15 I watched it when I was 13...which I still am XD
Ginga Densetsu Weed (my fave anime) is also pretty disturbing. Alot of swearing and cursing, and the fights are very bloody and graphic. And alot of scenes were very emotional and upsetting. To sum it all up...
**CONTAINS SERIOUS SPOILERS**
-- ALOT of fight scenes, with ALOT of blood and guts to go with it
-- Dogs getting their balls ripped off (NO JOKE) with alot of screaming and rolling about following
-- Alot of emotional deaths; like Blue getting hit by truck and Weed grieving, Weed's mother dying, Teru's father dying, John dying... ALOT of loud screaming and crying
-- LOTS of swearing and cursing
