This is funny, I found this board not five seconds after listening to the Emo Kid Song(I'm sure you've all heard it).

Just so you know, I have an emo friends who has an emo boyfriend. The emo friend's name is Aliana. She's fun to be around, although she's in love with the lead singer of Greenday and calls me just to make me hear songs.

She's one of the more peppy emo kids. Seriusly, if she had a themesong it would be Happy Happy Joy Joy.

Okay, I know this might sound absoulutly retarted to you but the following IS the truth. Emo is a mental Disorter. Know one In thier right mind would ever think about how much life would be happier if they were dead,Slit thier rists,wish they were dead,think they have no perpace in the world,want to die,like death and sicknesses,talk about everything not understanding them so they go off and drownd themselves with pain or alchohol. Okay I know alot of u are going to start flaring but Here is my other side of it. I DONT mind the gcloths trend. They are not bothering anyone by doing that. All emo really is are people who were never thingking right and go around feeling sorry for themselves and think everyone hates them. I dont think that is cool. Death is NOT cool. I dont know why some people cant just get it through thier heads. And this topic might need to be locked incase people start flaring. You never know with topics like this...sorry...but that is what I think. Please dont get Mad at anyone because this is thier opinions. You think what u want, and other people may think diferently

Emo isn't a disease. That's called manic depression and its a mental disorder Emo kids are basically faking it or are on so much medication it makes them depressed.

I agree with Cat, Whitewolf. Perhaps you could show us the medical/psychiatric research or foundation for such a claim.

Whenever you make a statement of that kind, you must be prepared to back it up with references, evidence, etc. Otherwise, it cannot be taken seriously.

Emo is just a break-away from goth(so I hear). Its nothing more then pretending to have problems. Their not cool, their not popular and their not gonna get ANY attention by pretending to have problems(except from maybe a counselor). All its gonna do is make people think that you need help.
Like Cat said emo is a load of bull. For all you emo kinds on this site look around NOBODY likes emo, why, if you go to deviantart.com and type in 'emo' (in the search box) you'll find a whole bunch of stuff making fun of you guys. Honestly, I cant see why you think your going to earn attention from it.
I know theres a whole bunch of people who would back me up on this. Emos are not outcasts they just choose to be. All you emo's do us all a favor and save it for the ones who acctually have problems. For real this emo crap is getting old.

Actually, I think it could possibly have something to do with an imbalance in the brain now that I think about it...it might not exactly be a disease, but just something slightly irregular that makes the person act like they do.

Sliting of the wrist began with goths....now people are changing it saying emos just slit there rists not goths. Goths do slit there rists...they do it to release pain.

How does it release pain? I thought slitting your wrists would cause more pain, espicially when people make fun of you for it..

From what I know, it doesn't release physical pain, but emotional pain.

I'm ashamed to admit it but when I was severly depressed not long ago I should take a knife or razor to my arm, legs, stomach or sides. It releases emotional pain. How? It gets rid of stress. I'm not saying go cut yourself when your stressed though. Not only will you be very unhappy with your body afterward but its very adiccting(like drugs) and once you feel the "rush" of cutting the more you want to.

Goths do not cut their wrists, they were a lot of baggy black clothes, thats why people respect Goths, they do not try and get attention but hruting themselves.
