To me, this is a sign, for us to stop our greed, those who want everything will end up with nothing....... so true and look at the signs, twin towers go down, then the wave of death in korea, whats next, something to happen to Alaska? posibly, im sure more horrible things will happen, Greed and thurst for power and war does not pay, in ten years look what has happend so far, by the looks of things, it will only get worse, polution disgusting and horrible, it can be easly stoped, but people are to ***** layzy to give a ***** about this earth, it's being prooven right before our very eyes, sad very, but we have had many signs, but we still don't fallow the basic rules of life, and there for this is punnishment, you cannot say it's not because look at what has happend in the past ten years, things that changed humanity and life.......

Well, those who DO think it's the fault of humanity, in THIS case they'd be wrong.
It does, in fact, have to do with the core of the planet, which does shift from time to time, as as been shown in both the article, and discussed here. Yes, the article was written a year ago, but there is nothing scientists can do about it. It is what it is. A hard truth we must face. Of course, it will give Siberians a chance to see them better.
It is also true that, for now, the aurora borealis can be seen in the northern central U.S. But for how long? If the core is shifting, the upper U.S. (that part in the "lower 48", that is) will be the first to lose sight of them...at least, according to that map.
Of course, this may also affect the aurora AUSTRALIS...the southern lights. Which, for now, only those who man research stations in Antarctica can see (as far as I know). Maybe they'll now be able to be seen in either South America, Australia, and/or Africa. Hmm.

Hmmmm.......scientists and anyone from the media lately say alot of things but half of them are never true. Like all heck was "supposed" to break loose this year(forgot the date) and actually I had a good day!
They have said things like this in the past about things that WERE supposed to happen this year but, they never did. I refuse to believe any part of the media anymore, whether its is religious or scientific. I don't beleive it. The media has this habit of bending what they hear so I doubt Alaska will lose its northern lights..... If you really read the first two paragraphs it says it "could happen" which means it has as much chance of happenning as it does not happening. People usually don't apy attention to these small statements but you should because that 1 sentence explains the whole concern of the matter.Don't worry so much!

Worry? I'm not worried. I'm disappointed. And actually, the scientists are not pinning it down to a specific date, but to a gradual course of time. Please read the article fully. It is scientifically plausible. It's not the sensationalism you're making it out to be.
