I've seen lots of stray animals around my house, but they mostly belong to other people so I don't worry about that. Once before we moved into the house are living in now we had a stray dog come right up to our door and sit outside of it. We didn't even know it was there till my mom opened the door so we could get into the garage. And there it was a little gray dog sitting on our door looking up at us. We didn't get to keep it but I think it may have died because it had some problems with it when we saw it. Or I hope someone else took him in and took care of him.

Yes, it's happened before... all in the same area too. The only sad part is that both animals (One amm. staff. and a cat) had to be put down because of intense problems. The amm. staff. was heavily infested with fleas, ticks, and had a serious worm case. So we called the pound, and asked them to humanely put him down. The cat, I forgot what the reason was, but the cat had the same fate. She was just a mess, and I think she may have been hit by a car, so that's why she could no longer walk. The amm. staff. stayed the night at our huouse, but we didn't move him since he had a very hard time walking.

Does finding three kittens in a wood pile in your yard count?? That's how I got my tigress Saphira. Her sister, Pumpkin, and brother, CJ, were adopted by my neighbors and I kept her, she still attacks and snuggles with me too.
We had a stary kitten come up to my sis, dad, and I. She was gray with a white tipped tail and left front paw. We gave her food and water and a box to sleep in for the night. The next morning my dad took her to the highschool with him, where he works as a groundsman, and let her roam the halls. She was adopted that way.
Our huge, not exagerrating, gray giant Bear lived with us for 2 years before we moved to our grandparents house and had to leave him. I'm not sure how we found him, I was 1 when I first met him!

I once found a duck on our lawn - it was a white farmyard duck and it seemed pretty lost!

Acutally, yes. There used to be this black cat that would come to our house, so my Mom (being the kind, cat-lover she is) would leave food out of it. Then we discovered it had dug a hole at the side of our house and made a den-like home in our yard. Funny story, huh?

When I was 5 or so we always had a large black/white dog come over to our property and we fed him etc. Eventually his owners (who didn't care about him oddly at all) said we could keep him... so we did
We also once found a "stray" burmese cat (or some sort of breed like that) in our garage. He stayed around for a few months but our other cat didn't like him. After a while he just went off on his own or something I think he was abit of a wanderer...

Yeah... at least someone responsible may take the dog.
And, now this topic reminds me of it... the yorkie wasn't a stray, but one came running around in my yard a few days ago, and I had to catch it and give it back to its owners (Who were persuing it... apparently the do was runnig away, and I somehow managed to catch it.)
