The master smiled. "Alright, hang up that sword. You wont be aloud to pick that up until you learn to fight with other things. I'll expect you in the quarts in five minutes. We'll be fighting with staffs and wrestling. I'll expect your friends will be glad to see you." he said and took the sword. He smile and patted the young lad's shoulder. He walked away to meet the boys.

David ~
He nodded and put the sword on a rack. David walked to the quart with no certain expression. David could see his mother walked around the town, looking for something obviously. David waved to her slightly and smiled some. Anna waved back with love in her eyes. David followed his 'master'.

The master walked into the yard, he smiled at his students. He loved all of his students, no matter what anyone said. He wondered about this young master who was Felix's son. He seemed like a nice lad, but not a fighter. Felix had always been a fighter. And a survivor. Though, he had been stand offish at first as well.

David ~
He stood next to a taller young man. He didn't know him at all but he seemed like a nice boy. David stood at the end of the line. Watching and listening the master's every movement and word. David looked over his shoulder at some younger girls who were watching and pointing. They were giggling and whispering amongst their little group they were in.

OOC:// do you want me to make a little girlfriend or best friend for him?

The master had a wooden staff in his hand. He talked about it, pointing at different sides and explaining how they aided the warrior. He passed out staffs to every page and began instructing them on foreword and how to handle the stick as past of their body.

David ~
He nodded as he looked over the wood. He learned quick and soon was guiding the stick along like it was part of his arm. David looked over at the girls who were still giggling and pointing. He didn't know any of them. David focused back on his training and looked at his master.

Princess Anna ~
Oh yes they do grow fast. David is growing like a weed. Getting taller every day. She said and smiled. She was very proud of her son. Anna continued to chatter with her friend.

OOC:// his name is Jonathan, or Jon, he's on the first page with Felix. He's the Duke's son.

Jon walked along the lines of the younger kids, he was nine, they were eight. He was only a year older than the prince. He walked over and helped the boy fix his stance. He walked back of the the master. The master asked him to demonstrate. He and the master fought with sticks and finally, he beat the old swords master and the master smiled.

David ~
He glanced around, he noticed his friend. He looked back down at the crafted piece of wood. He looked over at his mom and at his dad. He knew more people than he thought he did. David looked at the master and waited for the next set of instructions. David was getting bored now.

The master smiled. "now, we are going to you boys the basics of wrestling." he said. He had them all take off their shirts and he paired then off, older boy and younger boy. He paired Jon with David. Jon walked over to his friend. "hello young sire." he said. He grinned.

David ~
Hello. He said and smiled some. He knew his mother was probably back at the castle getting talked to by her mother. David looked at the ground and then back at his friend. He honestly wanted nothing to do with this class but he didn't want to dissapoint or disobey his father.

OOC:// there is going to be a war between the country they're in and nomadic people. Felix is going to be caught up in it. How does that sound?


Felix watched his son, a messenger sprinted in his direction, he turned to meet the young runner.

Jon smiled. "Alright, well, I'm supposed to teach you hand to hand combat." he said. He glanced at the master. "Well, I would give you a break, but the master would tell my father and my father would beat me." he said, he shrugged. He started to show David the basics.

David ~
He nodded and tried to block the practice throws. One boy backed into David and turned on him. David backed up weakly. I'm sorry I was- He said and shyed away from the boy's fist.

Jon stepped in front of the young prince and faced the boy. "Beat it Roland." he said. The boy was obviously scared of him. He towered over most of the boys, even a year or so older than him. He was a big boy. Jon looked down at the boy who had threatened their future king. "Keep your hands of his highness, you hear?" he demanded. The boy nodded and skittered away.

The young messenger handed Felix a letter and bowed. Felix was now king, he hadn't wanted to be, but being married to the princess and the original to be king of this country, he had no choice. He read it and sprinted took one last look at his before sprinting to the stabled. The messenger asked him if he needed to leave any notes. He nodded and wrote a quick note to Anna.
Anna,
Urgent letter was sent to me. Barbarians are threatening our borders. I am needed immidiately on the battle field. Watch over our son and make sure he goes to his classes.

He mounted Sirius and rode fast out of the city and to meet his new foe. The messenger ran to take the note to Anna

David ~
Thanks. He said weakly and stood there, rubbing his arm. HE didn't know what to do next. He watched everyone train and it made him envious. How come he couldn't be a killer? He could never pull himself to hurt anyone or anything. Not even animals.

Jon smiled "Anytime highness." he said. The master called everyone over. They had to go to real classes and learn to read and write and do math. 'A young man should be educated' he told them and sent them off for their classes with the monks.

Felix rode with all speed towards their borders. He could see smoke rising. His army met him and they rode forward to investigate. When they got there, the village was burned to a crisp. Everyone was dead. The barbarians weren't in sight.
