OOC: Ok, who do you want to be from them?

Steele smiled. "They were both sled dogs...good sled dogs." he said, remembering the good times. "Infact...they're why I became a sled dog...."

Puppy Steele jumpped around. "I get big and strong, just like you! Right?" he asked his dad.

Steele's mother smiled and licked puppy Steele. "Someday, you'll be a big strong dog just like your dad,

Sakak shrugged. "Eh, I've seen worse, considering I can only come out on Christmas, I'm kinda immune."

"Yeah, well if you need my help, just ask, ok?" asked the fox.

"According to Charlie, you do fix a harder one, someone who'd once sold his soul to Red," said Tina. "You can thank Sakak for him having a second chance I bet."

OOC: I'd like to try Kaltag if you don't mind.


The pup sniffed, looking a little sad. "But it wasn't always like this, right? One day, your parents had to go on a sled run, and you snuck onto the sled." she said, making the scene dissapear, being replaced with a heartfelt goodbye to little steele, who then followed, hiding inside the warm bag with the supplies. "This is the day you lost them, remember? You really wanted to see them."

Steel mother sighed softly, lookign upset as they rested for the night. "I feel bad about havign to leave Steele behind. I just wish he wouldn't give us that look when we left."


Anabelle nodded with a smile. "I will, I'll ask."


Belladonna looked truly sorry. "My condolences, you poor thing. Being subjected to that kind of torture."

OOC: True, but that's kinda hard to do right now though, all things considered, since they wouldn't be logically there. Also, perhaps it turns out Steele's wrong about his parents being killed by wolves (they died, just the wolves didn't kill them, maybe even try to help).

"I know, but it's too dangerous for him to come with us after all." said Steele's father.

Steele looked away. "Please...don't make me see this...please!" he said, knowing what was about to happen.

Sakak shook his head. "Oh yeah, this is where you gained your hate of wolves, can't blame you, all things considered." he said. "Though shouldn't you blaim the musher for making them work during Christmas?"

OOC: Then how would they die? Maybe a patch of icy ground, and the sled crashes into them? It would be a way for the wolves to help.


Steele mother sighed, shaking snow off her fur. "The sooner we can get home to him, the better. It's his first Christmas after all." she explained, taking off at the musher's command.


The pup looked at the scene before them, eyes hard, trying not to cry, it seemed. "It's an education- how do you think they died?" she asked, looking at Pakak coldly.


Belladonna nodded, smirking. "Or blame sledding. If they weren't sled dogs, this wouldn't have happened at all."

OOC: Yeah, just the way baby Steele saw it it looked like they were being dragged away by wolves or something.

Steele snarled. "They where killed by wolves..." he growled. "Which is why I despise them so much!"

"Of course you do," said Sakak. "Why look at something you already know?"

Steele's father nodded. "Yeah, it's just a retine run, nothing more or nothing less."

"Wait...should the pups hear this part? It's kinda...bad..." said Steele, concerned.

OOC: That's really sad.


Jenna smiled, and looked down at her pups. She seemed sad. "Do you think you can handle it?" she asked the four of them, eyes concerned.

Derbin nodded after much thought. "We handle it."

Blaze nodded too, still unsure. "Yea, we handle sad part."


"Don't jinx us now." Steele's mother joked.


As they spoke, they passed over an area free of snow but covered in ice. Both dogs had missed it, but the sled didn't, and the sled began to swerve.


"I know it hurts," said the pup, looking sadly, trying not to cry. "But you need to look. You may not know the true truth."


Belladonna cocked an eyebrow. "He saw it with his own eyes, your eyes don't lie, do they? and a memory like that can really screw up a kid." she said, jerking her head towards Steele.

A pair of wolves crept out of the woods and looked at the two.

Steele snarled, watching them drag the wolves out of view, right passed his younger self before the pup version passed out from his injuries. He was then shocked to see the wolves trying to treat his parents wounds. "What?"

Steele father coughed up blood, he knew he was dieing. "I don't think we're going to make it, are we sweetie?" he asked sorrowfully to his mate.

"Oh, that's gotta hurt, huh?" asked Sakak, smiling evilly. "You've been blaming the ones trying to save your parents for their deaths!" he said, laughing.

The father looked to the sled, seeing Steele had hid in it and was worried. "Please...we're dying...but our son...there's still hope for him, save him...please..." he said. "And don't let him see us like this..." he said. "If he's safe...we can die in peace..." he said. The wolves seemed unwanting to leave them, but understood, but pulled them to each other so they could spend their last moments together. They then went over and pulled the pup to safety, then started taking him back to Nome. The father nodded. "Think he'll like our present?" he asked, refering to the present they'd left back home before leaving, their first and last Christmas present.

Steele looked heartbroken. "...What have I done?" he asked, torn. "I...They were trying to help and I...I hated them...I always thought the Musher had taken me back to Nome...but it was the wolves? They safed my life and I..."

"Blamed them for murdering your parents, makes you feel like a beaten pup, doesn't it?" asked Sakak, smiling sadisiticly, despite genuinely feeling sorry for him.

"Momma...Steele's momma and papa's bodies no work anymore?" asked Denali sadly, not knowing much about death but know it must be sad.

Kenai burst into tears.

"And I hope he grows up kind, just like his mother," said the father, nuzzling his mate, giving a gasp of pain, blood trickling from his mouth. "I'll see you in heaven...my love..." he muttered, slowly sinking into death and life leaving him, going limp across his mate's back. "I love you..." he said with his last breath.

Steele was too busy watching the scene to answer as a light descended from the sky and he saw the past Anabelle materilize, his father's spirit rising from his body. "Who is that?" he asked, not certain.

"Well congrats, your parents get the royal treatment, must've been two fine dogs, too bad they're dead!" said Sakak. Anabelle herself getting them meant they had a special place in heaven.

OOC: They'll go see him open it next.

And my gosh was this sad! I got choked up just reading it!

Tai nuzzled Kenai, choked up too. She let her head duck, tears falling copiously.


The mother cringed, choking back her pain as she felt her mate go limp. "And i love you." she said, and breathed her last, head falling against her mate's shoulder.


The pup smiled, looking as Anabelle took the two spirits, eyes happy, up to Heaven. "That's Anabelle. she's Archangel. I still don't knwo what that means really, but peopel tell me it's like saying she's leader. They must have been really good to get her to take them up."


"Oh yeah," said Belladonna bitterly, cockign an eyebrow. "My goody-goody cousin doesn't take do-gooders lightly. Thank goodness she was here!!" she said, gritting her teeth.


OOC: Me too! I had to keep myself from crying a few times!

Steele sobbed. "Wait!" he said, reaching out and trying to touch his parents, but phased through, as he wasn't able to interfer in events, only observe. He remembered this and looked sad. "...I...I miss them...I miss them so much..." he said, looking to the pup. He then looked guility. "...I'm sorry for the hate towards wolves...it was a misunderstanding..."

"But don't forget, you spent most of your life spreading hate about wolves and picking on poor Balto, who is likely looking forwards to a visit from Anabelle himself upon death." said Sakak. "Sad really, don't you realize that if you'd not hated wolves so much, you'd have let him help you and shared in the fame? Sad huh?" he asked. "And that doesn't make this Christmas any less miserible, does it?"

Kenai looked to Anabelle, eyes full of tears. "Anabelle...Steele's momma and papa in heaven now? They happy?"

OOC: I know! But that shows we're doing a good job!
