Ooc://THe keyboard is malfunctioning! THink I fixed it though....

Rue headed out of the cabin, walking into the forest. The trees made shadows that played over the ground, making her think something was moving. SHe realized something was when there was a glisten of white fur. A rabbit. Not steak, but hey, once it was cooked, it shouldn't tast to bad. She crouched down, the small animal unsuspecting. SHe aimed the rusty knife at it and threw. It hit home and the rabbit made a strangled sound she didn't know was possible. She picked it up and wrung it;s neck, ending it's torture.

Setsuko stood silently by the lake, watching Jaci do his thing. She couldn't fish with her hands and didn't have a pole or net, so she decided to let Jaci go at it. After all , fish were Blue Lion's natural prey...therefore, fishing would come instinctively to the animal. Sure enough, we was able to catch three. "Good job, Jaci." Setsuko praised. "This should be enough." She scooped of two of the fish, scales slick and slimy against her palms. Jaci grabbed the third in his mouth, and the two set off, back towards the cabin.

Rue pulled the knife out and wiped it on her jeans, cleaning some rust off and all of the blood. She held the rabbit in one hand, searching for another one. She spotted one, running away from the scene. She aimed the knife, her raptor vision making it easy and threw. It grazed him, but the rabbit kept running. SHe ran in the direction she had thrown the knife, and picked it up. The rabbit was gone, and she was sure to have scared away all the prey nearby. She headed back to the cabin, soon seeing Setsuko and Jaci.

Setsuko saw Rue as she returned. "Jaci caught three fish," She called. "You get anything?"

"I got a rabbit. The other one got away, and scared away everything else," she reported, holding up the blood-stained rabbit.

"Not bad," Setsuko praised, examining the catch. "We'll have to cook it, though, and I'm not to good at making fires. We'll save it for tonight. Here, you can eat these raw...it's safe, I promise." She added.

"Uh...ok," Rue said uncertainly. "I could make a fire though, and we could cook them too," she said.

Setsuko shrugged. "Whatever you want to do. Rabbit still makes better dinner than breakfast, though." She took a bite out of her fish, not really caring that it wasn't cooked. "Hm," She said. "Not bad. Bit more...exotic than what I eat at home. Less...frozen." She finished it off in a few more bites. Jaci swallowed his whole...they weren't exactly huge.

Rue watched as she ate it raw. THe thought made her stomach clench. But maybe she would try it. SHe tentavily took a small bit of the fish, the texture weird in her mouth. SHe tore off a small chunk and chewed it, braced for a bad flavor. It actually wasn't too bad, although she prefered cooked. SHe relaxed as she ate another bite. The fish soon disappeared.

"You looked a bit disgusted," Setsuko pointed out. "Chill. If you hate eating fish raw, you would hate living where I live. We do cook things, but sometimes...like now...we just eat the raw fish. It's not that bad, really." She shrugged again.

"I'm not dsigusted. It's not to bad actuially," she said, wiping her hands on her jeans.

Setsuko smiled. "Well, good to know!" Then she turned and went inside, fixing the blanket-beds so they looked nice and neat...not just randomly lying in a heap.

Rue stayed outside, the sun warming her tawny wings that were outstrecthed.

Setsuko glanced around. Well! Now what? The cabin was clean and patched and they had already eaten. Then she got an idea. It would be good to feel the wind. "Hey, Rue!" She called, grabbing her staff. "Wanna go fly for a while?"

"Of course!" she replied, her tawny wings strecthing.
