Ana nodded. "Think I'll meet the right male?"
"But when the time you spent with him is great, its hard to forget." said Balto. "You always treated us perfectly when you were there."

"Yeah, someday," Kodi said. "But not too soon."
Scout sighed. "I wish I had been there more. But I couldn't risk my musher finding out."

Ana nodded. "I hope so." she said. She nuzzled her brother. "And if I get hurt like Rose, I know you're watching my back."
"I know but you did that for us." said Balto. "And I'm certain she'll understand that."

"Exactly," Kodi said. "If anyone hurt any of my sisters, they'd have to deal with me. And Dingo."
"I hope so," Scout said, his voice full of doubt.

Ana nodded. She cocked her head. "Where does Dingo's name come from?"
"I understood it." said Balto. "And I've had a very rough life."

"You know what? I have no idea," Kodi said. "Dad probably knows. You should go ask him."
"I just wonder if she's had the same," Scout said. "Or if she's had a perfectly good life without knowing her family. Will she even want me to show up? I might be the thing that messes everything up."

Ana nodded. "But he's busy talking to grandpa." she said. "I'll ask later." she said. "How'd your last sled run go?"
Balto nuzzled his father. "Dad, relex." he said. "Don't second guess yourself." he said. "We won't know until we get there."

"Same old , same old," Kodi said. "If anything interesting happened, you would have heard about it."
Scout took a long, calming breath. "Yes, you're right."

Ana nodded. "Yeah." she said. "Remember that time you broke you leg on a run?"
Balto nodded. "I've got good advice sometimes." he said with a smile. "And I'm always ready to help my dad."

"And Dad did too one time," Kodi added. "Accidents do happen. Thats why we have to be so careful."
Scout smiled. "I just can't help but worry about these kinds of things. That was how I was right before I met you."

Ana nodded. "Dusty said it hurt so bad you fainted, is that true?"
Balto smiled and nuzzled his father. "Dad, I know, we all have our faults."

"Well, I wouldn;t say that," Kodi said quickly, remembering that day and how he had fainted and woken up hours later.
"I just wish I could go back in time and save Aniu, Noa, and John from their fates," Scout said with remorse.

"Dad, listin." said Balto. "Learn from the past, plan for the future, and live in the present." he said. "If you try to think of how things could've been or worry about what might happen too much, you forget to enjoy the here and now."
"I hope that never happens to me." muttered Ana.

"As long as you watch where you're running, it wont," Kodi reassured her.
Scout gave a sad smile. "You speak like your mother. The both of you are very wise. And you're always right like your mother too." Scout sighed. "Lets focus on finding your daughter and mine first."

Balto nodded. "Well I'm just glad to have you here." he said. "And I'll be glad to see my daughter and sister."
Ana nodded. "Yep." she said. "I hope none of us ever do again."
