Cassie quickled walked down the steps and set the rose on a side table that she passed as she made her way to Curtis, wanting to try to leave her emotions behind her as she went out for coffee. "I'm ready," she said to him with a small smile.

Cassie looked over at him, knowing the real answer was 'no.' But no body else had to be concerned over what was going on in her mind. "I'll be better when everything with Zane is worked out," she said finally.

Cassie sighed, knowing that she could trust Curtis but also unsure of exactly what to tell him. "Well, the thing is... you know the rose that I had this morning? It all sorta started there. No, it was yesterday when Zane got sick. No, before. At the lake. And it was..." She sighed to stop her ramblings. She paused to try to sort her thoughts again. "Do you know who gave me that rose?" she finally asked.
