Kat felt her phone ring and she whipped her phone out to see it was a care taker. Kat frowned, preparing herself for the scolding of a life-time. But when she brought her phone to her ear, what she heard confused her.
"Kat?" It was the female caretaker, Jodi.
"Yeah?" Kat asked carefully.
"Someone has come to adopt you. Come to the orphanage right now and meet them!" Jodi chimed. Kat's heart almost stopped, what would this change? Probably everything. She hung up the phone and looked at the table infront of her.
"Alfred, drive me to the orphange, please?" She asked, getting up and putting on a jacket.

Alfred frowned, and nodded.
"Yeah sure." He said, looking at Arthur. "I'll be back in a sec Iggy." He said, trotting out the door.
"So what's up?"

Kat waited until she was safely in the car to answer. She buckled hersef in and leaned back in the seat, she didn't even know what was up herself.

"Someone has come to adopt me. They could be a local family." Kat said, but all of the local families in town didn't want anymore kids, and Kat knew that all too well. She felt like a dog in the pound, except she had escaped the pound and was being dragged away from her new home to go live someplace else.

Alfred's face fell as he pulled onto the street.
"oh..that..sucks dude." He said quietly.

Kat nodded, she watched the orphanage roll into veiw and she held her breath "I'll text you and tell you where I'm moving. See you tommarow, probably..." Kat said grimly, before getting out of the truck and walking into the building.

"Okay..I love you Kat!" Alfred called, driving off. He walked into his house and slumped down on the couch.
"Kats getting adopted..." He said, and Arthur raised his eyebrows.
"And that's a bad thing..?"

Kat then realize she hadn't said she loved him. She sighed and shrugged her shoulders, too late now. She met the parents, they looked too happy, like they were forcing happiness on her. She sized them up, too happy, she concluded. By the end of the day they had finally told her where they lived, and Kat felt about ready to cry. They lived 2 hours away, she'd have to switch schools, make new friends, leave Alfred.
"No." She growled, refusing to budge as they pushed her along to the car. "I'm not going with you! I'm staying here!" She said stubbornly.
"Aw, sweeiey, you'll make new friends!" Rachel, her new 'mom' chimed.
"I don't want new friends! I want to stay and live with Alfred!" She exclaimed, taking a step back.
"We'll make sure that you can vist him every few months." Henry, her new 'dad', assured her.
"No."
"Yes." Rachel pressed, and before Kat could say another word, she was in the car.

Alfred cried while Arthur heald him, Kat had texted him the news.
"She's leaving me! I can't beleve it!" He cried, and Arthur sighed.
"I-I'm sorry Alfred.."

Kat was never a good kid, even to her real parents she was stubborn. But now, she tried even harder, so they'd send her back to the orphanage. But they were plenty stubborn also, they tried to make her listen. Since it was break, she didn't meet anyone new. Kat just stayed in her new room, wishing for an escape.

And few months past and Kat had eventually stopped texting Alfred, it was too painful. She sat in her room, school had started back up, but she hated everyone there. She didn't want to be in this stupid town, living with these stupid people. Kat looked up from her notebook, she'd been writting an essay for the past few hours, and gazed into the night sky. She wondered what Alfred was doing, was he missing her? Did he miss her, just as much as she missed him? Kat had to know. She slammed her notebook shut and went to the window. Kat tugged open the window and crawled out. She dropped down onto snow and unlocked the little car her parents had gotten her. She'd see Alfred. She would.

Months passed, and Alfred and Arthur had slowly gotten closer, and closer. To the point, where they were practically dating, just not pubically. Alfred had nearly a mental breakdown when Kat stopped texting him, and Arthur was there for him, so things grew from there. Now the two were curled up on the couch, the door locked, watching a movie.

The drive was long a boring, but she listened to Black Sabbath the entire way, so it was actually sort of amusing. Kat didn't know what she was going to say when she saw Alfred, maybe 'Hi' or 'Look it's me!'. She wanted to know how life was going for him. Kat parked her car by the curve and got out of the car. She slammed the door and rung Alfred's doorbell.

Alfred perked, and stood, making Arthur blink and scoot over into the warm spot his lover made. Alfred approached the door, and opened it cautiously, before his eyes widened and a grin appeared on his face.
"KAT!?" He squealed, scooping her up in a giant hug.

Kat hugged him tightly, feeling tears of joy spill down her face. "Oh my god Alfred. I missed you so much" She laughed.

"I missed you too! Hey Iggy! Kat's here!" Alfred called into the living room, and Arthur appeared, wearing that sleepy-annoyed face he did when he was woken up or something.
"Kat..great to see you." He said, meaning to sound friendly, you could tell that, just in a tired tone.
