Kyler stayed silent, allowing Damien to defend her. She looked down at her feet, too scared to say a word.
Her mother raised her eyebrows at Damien's defense. "Well I'm sorry to hear that." she snapped back. "Good to hear that this idiot actually did something right, for once."

Kyler looked up slowly, grateful for the defense but also worried he might do something he'd regret.
Her mother shot a steely glare back at him, as if daring him to make a move. She engaged in a few moments of a bit of a staring contest, then grabbed Kyler by the hair, dragging her inside. "Room. Now." she growled through her teeth as she shoved her inside. Suddenly, she stopped and glared at Damien. "Wait, she was with you, in the hospital all night?"

"So would it be a problem if I called your mother to ask if you should be walking around yet?" questioned Mother as she squinted challengingly at him.
Kyler stayed behind her mother, her mother's fingers still gripping her hair. Even so, she was ready to get away and defend Damien like he did for her.

Kyler's mother raised an eyebrow, surprised at how convincing he sounded. She finally let go of Kyler's hair, then crossed her arms. Finding herself at a dead end, she simply replied, "Alright, thank you Damien."
Kyler smoothed her hair back down, glaring at her mother with hatred from behind. Then, she switched her gaze to Damien, love and thanks in her eyes.
"You're still grounded, Kylie." her mother snapped at her, pointing for her to go to her room upstairs.
Kyler growled to herself, hating when her mother messed up her name.

Kyler had just entered her mess of a room when a tapping could be heard on the window. She knew who it was; Damien had played the trick for years and never got caught once. And that would be her route to freedom once again. She grinned and walked over to her window, pushing it up and opening it. Kyler smiled down at him and said quietly, "Did I ever tell you how much I love you?" as she began climbing through the window and onto the latticework structure.

Kyler gained her grip on the wood and found herself blushing at Damien's question. "Did I ever tell you how happy I am to have someone to help me sneak out of a punishment?" she retorted with a grin as she began to descend, mking sure she didn't slip and blow their cover.

Kyler chuckled at his name-calling. "You know it." she answered, then at his second comment, she said, "Hey, if you ought to be hanged, then I don't even want to know what would happen to me, being the rebellious leader of the rebellion rebelling against those who don't rebel."

Kyler patted his cheek. "Don't you worry your pretty little head about it." she said with a grin, then began to descend a few steps down the latticework ladder.
