"And who said he was alone?" asked Dark Spyro and Spyro dodged the ray. He flew in, grabbing Terrador and Volteer and slamming them both into a building, throwing them to the ground, then blasting Cyril out of the sky with fire. "The Dragon Guardians? Long time no see, I forgot how good it felt to beat you down!"

Dark Spyro was unfazed by this, but protected Spyro with his tail. "You know we can't kill him!" he shouted to Dark Danny. "Settle it down so I can break some spirits!"
"Who are you?" asked Spyro, suprised and confused.
Dark Spyro laughed. "You don't reconize me?" he asked, finding this comical. "I remember when I was that naive, back when I thought the world was worth saving," he said, disgusted by his past self. "I'm the new Dark Master, Spyro, I'm the one who will kill and replace Malefor."
"Malefor is alive, we sealed him up again," said Cynder.
"Oh Cynder, it'd warm my heart to see you again, if I still had any compassion," said Dark Spyro, smiling evilly. "I'll kill him soon...well, not me, but you," he said, pointing to Spyro.
"What is this guy talking about?" asked Sparx, confused.
"Sparx, well isn't this a nice little reunion?" asked Dark Spyro. "Last time I saw most of you, you were dead or in my dungeon!"

Spyro snarled. "Who are you?!"
Dark Spyro laughed. "You haven't told him?" he asked Danny. "You didn't tell him why you came here? Why Clockwork had you save Cynder's life?" he asked. "You kept Spyro in the dark? Go on! Tell him! Tell him just who I am! I know Clockwork showed you!"
Cynder looked concerned. "Danny...what's he talking about?"

"Then I'll tell him," said Dark Spyro. "He was sent to save Cynder to stop me from existing."
"But...how did that stop you from existing?" asked Spyro, confused.
"Because, I'm you, Spyro!" said Dark Spyro. "I'm what you will become when the darkness that fool Malefor put in you overwelms your mind!"
Spyro staggered back. "No...no! I...I can't...I don't believe it! You're not me!"
"Oh but I am," said Dark Spyro. "I still exist! That means you still turn into me!"

Dark Spyro laughed. "You're not, Dark Spyro is, that's the part of you that becomes me, and all I have to do is kill Cynder and it'll happen." he said, slowly turning to look at her.

"No!" said Spyro, looking up. "That works both ways! If I become you, that means that if I die, you do too!" he replied, to Dark Spyro. "But I'm not connected to you at all! That means I can fight you but you can't fight me!" he replied, blasting Dark Spyro back with Fire.
Cynder snarled at Dark Danny. "This is all your fault!" she shouted, dodging him. "If you'd never been here, nothing would've happened!"
