The venom she injected into "captors" made it obvious they would ever regret locking her up...if she managed to get out.

Shay pressed her lips tightly together, the skin around them turning almost as white as her knuckles, which were still clenched around the metal bars. "Its getting hard to keep control," she spat through gritted teeth.

Shay opened her mouth, most likely to shoot a retort at Zane, but closed it abruptly as she looked a little beyond the shadows. "They're coming," she murmured, venom obvious in her glare and tone.

Shay could see a gun dangling from one's hand, and her stomach muscles clenched. Her breaths came in tight hisses, almost quivering with tension. What would they do with them?
