Russet licked Delilah's cheek and Chaskar grumbled something rude under his breath. He led them to the pack, and all turned to see Chaskar, the wolf, and dog who came from behind.

They were all in a circle around the den where Russet's mother was laying. Mareem stood up from his mate and went to check the new comers. He growled in suprise. "Russet." he gasped.

The pack sprung forward, hearing the name they rarely spoke of now.

Mareem sneered at Delilah. "And his little pest too."

Russet growled at his father and put himself in front of Delilah to protect her if Mareem attacked.

Mareem chuckled. "I always knew you had a thing for failures just like you." he snapped. "Now get out of here. I don't want you spreading your failure to my new cubs."

Russet rose an eyebrow. "Cubs? Mom had cubs?" he asked.

Mareem growled. "Yes, and I don't want you near them."

Russet snapped at him. "I want to see them."

As he stepped forward, Mareem shoved him across the field, blood running from his muzzle.

Mareem snarled as Delilah spoke. "What do you know dog?! You've been a house pet all your life. So I would shut that little mouth of yours before it ends up lying on the floor." he threatened.

Russet tried to get up. "Leave her out of this." He turned to Delilah, he eyes full of remorse. I'm so sorry, Delilah. Go back to Julius. Raise the pups with him. But tell them who their real daddy is when they ask. Do that one thing for me please. his eyes said.

Mareem slammed into Russet's side again. More blood fell, splattering on the ground. Russet yelped. He struggled to get up afterwards. He managed to get his jaws around his father's neck, slashing deep into it.

They both fell then, Russet yelping furiously. Helplessly. The battle was over.

Mareem gasped for air. "Now.... you.... stay away... from my cubs...." he managed to say, before struggling up and collapsing before his mate. She licked him gently, and with her gentle licks and warmth, he fell asleep, trying to dream of a happy place where his son could not come to.

Russet struggled up as well, his legs shaking. He made his way to his mother and the cubs. He smiled as the little ones staggered about, blind and deaf. His licked his mother and stumbled in the other direction.

He managed to make his way back to his real home, with Delilah. He had collapsed several times on the way bleeding consistantly and leaving a trail of blood. He couldn't even get into the room. He collapsed at the doorway of Delilah's room. He managed to whimper a bit as the blood flow to the floor. The sun beamed down on him, a halo of light around him. "Delilah." he whimpered before seeing a flash of black and falling asleep.

OOC: I have to go, and he's not dead, either.

"Am I in heaven?" Russet asked softly, as he woke slowly. "I keep seeing an angel." He was looking up at Delilah now, his eyes closing in contenment at her presence and her warm tongue. His tail wagged a bit, but not much because his entire body was stiffening as he healed.

OOC: I really have to go now. Bye.

"I must be. Because I wouldn't be in heaven right now if I were dead. So I wouldn't be seeing an angel like you." He winced a bit, looking at the blood on the floor. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have brought you there. I didn't know it was going to get the way it did. I didn't want you to see that." Russet put his head onto her shoulder, his eyes full of guilt.

"No it's not. I pushed it too far. You nearly died. If you died, Julius would never forgive, and worst of all, I wouldn't have you with me." he whispered bitterly.
