Noah nodded. He liked Angel; quick, decisive, intelligent. She'd be very helpful if they were to survive. "Yeah, I think we'll want you with us. Opal, you'll probably be needed here while everyone's getting this place fortified. You're the only one who knows where everything is. But maybe when that changes you can join us on a trip. Andrea, you can come too. Devon should probably stay here so there can be at least three people on their feet. Everyone agreed?"

Angelica shru8gged. "sounds like a olan to me." she said. "oh, and by the way, great-oh-mighty-leader," she joked. "do the dogs come, or stay?" she asked. if she couldn't be in charge, she'd make Noah's being-in-charge role as hard as it could be, starting out small, then getting bigger.

"If I may interrupt again?"
"It depends on whether you want dogs or live bait. Honestly the monsters could care less, some are about as big as this house and most think anything barking, making nise or smelling like meat with or without fur needs to be chased until it can be eaten."

Angel didn't want to scare the girl but the poor animals would ahve no chance and might get them killed too. It wouldn't be safe for anyone and the people here could use an alarm more than the foragers. They were all so young, painfully so, Angel hadn't noticed it before but she would rather a smart child or teen than ten able bodied too smart adults.

Angelica bliked and then turned to Angel. she rolled her eyes, then said. "next time i ask you something, you answer it, and when i ask someone else something, they answer it. got it?! good!" she spat. she looked down at Connie. "well, girl, if we've lived through the 'exitnction', then what do we have to worry about?" she asked.

Connie barked in agreement.

Noah shook his head. "I don't want the dogs getting munched either, but we should have at least one, probably one of the Shepherds, handy. I don't think these things get out much in the sunlight, but if they do the dogs will be able to sense them a lot sooner than we will. And they'll know if a building is safe to go into. We just need one that listens well and won't get eaten."

Angelica laughed. "Connie's your right-hand dog then." she said, weakly smiling. she looked at Connie and smiled. the only thing she could be true to..... her only friend. her family.

Noah nodded. "Okay, Connie it is. She'll want to come anyway, I guess, since you are."

He looked around. "So, are we going to head out or what?"

Angelica nodded. "alright," she said, trying not to sound like she accepted any of this. "where to first?" she asked anyone who could answer.

"What do you need first? food, water, new place to live, weapons? Start at the top do as much as possible and work our way down seems sensible to me and if while you are gone you plan to stay here you should have whoever is left behind on some tasks to make this better. One day at a time, it's all we have." Angel said quietly, she didn't like being snapped at but deviating from normal behavior would be silly and snapping back at others cruel. She wanted to go home, the strip mall she had worked at wasn't home and didn't have anything she really wanted. She was scared to though. each time she risked leaving the shop there was a chance she wouldn't get back and another that going back would be a bad idea.

OOC: this is fun, let me know if I talk too much or anything ya'll.

Angelica shrugged. "ok. good idea. and, Angel, would you mind talking in smaller sentences?" she asked. "it's easier to understand if you're not extending everything to be to long." she looked down at Connie. you won't let us down. she thought.

Noah put a hand to his chin. "How far is your house?" he asked Angelica. "If it's pretty close, or in the other direction from stores and stuff, we might want to get the rifles first."

Angelica thought. "pretty far." she said absent mindedly, trying to think. "we should go to some stores, first. then go over there." she sugested.

Noah frowned slightly. He was a born fighter; family legend had it they were descended from Masai warriors, and that is X-number-of-greats grandfather had fought his way through wilderness and slave catchers to the north, only to turn and fight rebels back to the south in the Civil War. Oftentimes growing up he'd had to engage in fights for his own protection. Now, with those monsters out there, he would personally rather fight hungry and armed than with a full stomach and empty hands. But Angelica knew better than he did how far the rifles were, and attacks seemed less likely in the day time. They should have enough time to get their supplies before the trouble started. "Alright," he said, lifting a metal baseball bat he had found during the night onto his shoulder, "Then I think we should load up on whatever we can fight with here and get some supplies. But we'll have to keep the time in mind. Angel, are there any supplies at that mall you told us about?"

Angel looked up slightly from her notes and her eyes flicked back and forth through the different information about her workplace as she mentally scanned it.

"All the stores were connected in case of fire to a back hallway. The really big store on one side has been boarded up for years and even if the monsters break into a building because of the glass windows the back hall is locked from each store. Matter of a few minutes and some tools to lockpick my way into each one. There was a deli sort of health food store in it and their refrigeration was still running last I checked but I don't know how long that will hold out without a generator. I worked in the tailoring shop so there is clothing and fabric for just about anything. There was a dollar store a insurance office and a pack and ship place. The library is a work in progress so I don't know if the books are in yet."

Angel unfocused her eyes again trying to see if there was anything she had missed but that seemed to be all that was neccesary so she snapped her attention back to Noah and waited to see who else would speak.

Noah nodded. "Well, I don't know about anyone else, but some fresh food sounds good to me. We should look for that, clothes, and maybe some tools and stuff." He considered, and his next words came out painfully as he looked down at the almost-finished book in his hand. "And I think we'd better hold off on the library unless you think they'll have some survival guides."
He looked at those staying behind. "I don't think you'll have much time after you board up the windows, but if you do, maybe you can go out in groups of two or more to forage in nearby houses. Just don't leave anyone alone for even a second."
