Endom eventually got it loose enough where he could pull his paw out and leave the shell behind. He examined his paw all around.

"I can probably take the cast off my leg now," Rusty exclaimed taking a rock and pounding it against the cast until the cast cracked down the middle and Rusty slid his leg ou, "That feels weird" he exclaimed with the cool air grazing his paw for the first time in months.
