Why do a lot of you hate Aleu?

Well here is how i see why peoiple hate her much

Well, they see that she is bratty at the beginning. and then see some of the bad things she does, then get fixated on that then say "I hate her!" and she does improve at the end, they just dont wanna see that.

that is my thesis

everyone has there opinions. and I'm not saying you cant have yours. you can. so im just thesising why they HAVE That opinion.

Well for one -
She was angry at her father for something HE could NOT control, (Ever hear of don't cry over spilt milk)
And like Cat said, you /had/ to have liked her to get threw the movie.
Aleu went from whinny half wolf to magical half wolf? Huh?

And the "Who she is " thing? (Been done. Too many times)

*nodes* I agree with UK, but in my opinion, she DID whine quite alot at the beginning of the movie, but throughout the rest of the film, while trying to find out who see is, Aleu seems to become more mature than she used to be.

I don't hate Aleu at all she is still a decent character in balto for me :wink:

I respect your opinion but the point is, the people who have said that they dislike Aleu have provided good reasons. All the majority of Aleu fans have done here have either said this or posted a picture of us. Ramming down our throats, much?

I don't think the sequels to Balto should've happened in the first place. Sure they satisfied our thirst for more Balto but they weren't true to the original movie (like most sequels are). I've already stated my reason for disliking her (she had a negative effect on other characters to recap) and I can state many more but Cat and others have already done the job for me. Maybe it's not the fact that I dislike Aleu but I dislike the sequel on a whole. It was very disappointing.

If she'd been drawn differently, had a different voice actor (I respect Lancy Chabert as an actress but her voice didn't suit her), had a different design and a different purpose, she might have been a character we would've like. Sadly, this isn't the case and the sequel itself drove a stake through the original characters too.

I concur. She was a Sue among Sues and the only real reason I can think of why anyone can like her is because she's a "safe" character to like.

Amen! How can you make a fiction sequel to a movie based on a true story? You have hit the nail on the head with this point that many people overlook.

The original movie, however, was also very loosely based on the true story - romanticized, events added, the whole wolf thing being added... how can you make fictional events happen in a movie based on a true story? Because people will watch it.

This is not your original point, of course, but I am just pointing out a flaw in your argument here.
