When I was a kid and my cousin wanted to watch Balto, I'd say "Okay, but in this one, Balto dies." (I didn't like Balto) and I would stop the movie after he gets sucked under the ice, or Steele hits his head on the rock, or when Balto falls off the cliff, or when the avalanche trapped them in the ice cave. But technically speaking at the end of the movie

Balto DID die. I mean, Rosy's a grandmother now, and Balto's a statue. So. The movie ended. So, in theory, if Balto died, the movie would've ended sooner.

Or Star would've taken over as leader, which would've been amazing. He was obviously capable. I mean, he saw the cliff before Balto did. Or if Jenna continued being a bamf, then she'd go back out there and find the team herself and lead them back.

You can be a real turd sometimes. ROFL catwhohas14tails wrote: But technically speaking at the end of the movie...Balto DID die. I mean, Rosy's a grandmother now, and Balto's a statue. So. If Balto died, the story would be over. We can't allow that, now can we?

Balto never died, but it seems the story is over. xD No more Baltos happened. And it's worth pointing out (as Cat and I, and maybe others too, already have) that, while it was never portrayed on screen, each and every one of the characters eventually did die. That is just plain old sensible. I wonder how some of these proponents for the immortal Balto would handle any fan fictions which portray his eventual death. I know of at least one...a very old one that was tenderly-written. But in it Balto most definitely DID die...of old age. EDIT:The fan fiction in question is linked below. The author once had a longer version posted, but it has since disappeared (I think he left and came back with a new account, under the same name, but lost a lot of his old fics...) http://www.animationsource.org/balto/en/view_fanfic/Balto_s_True_Love/54244.html

Everything dies. So clearly, it would be plain common sense. Of course Balto would have died, it's life, you live and then die. Yes, it's not a nice thing to imagine, Balto dying, but it's true. He would have done. Probably the reason for no more Balto movies after WOC would be that they had no money left to create another Balto film, simply because the sensation died down after the first film. For me, the sequels sort of ruined Balto (as some of you will agree with). It would have been something like that anyway for the directors not to continue making Balto films. Maybe someone might know exactly what happened on that term. But sadly yes, Balto was not immortal or anything un-realistic like that, so he would have died. Everything eventually does die.

The sequels did ruin it, alot. But on topic what you said was simple and very true. Balto would have died eventually...heck he's dead right now. ________________________________________________________ If the topic was asking what would happen if Balto died in the movies, then in the first one, if he died before saving Nome, it would be a tragic moment. If he died in any of the other movies, wouldn't be all that touching seeing the sequels were pointless.
