Busara looked down at the cub, swinging from Bakari's jaws. "We are going to our home, called Pride Rock. There we will give you food and take you to water. We have lionesses there to be your mother or lions to be your father. You are going to be alright, I promise."
Then Busara looked up and saw Mara coming towards them. "Hello Mara! We've just found this cub in the gorge."

Again, Alika paused, thinking deeply. The hyenas could either run away, or they could attack. "Did they attack you?"

Mara looked at Zula. "Aww, poor thing. She's probably starving!" Mara then looked at Bakari. "Does she have parents?"

Bakari shook his head slowly from side to side, careful not to move Zula around too much.

"It was good for a first try, but you're rushing too much," he said. "Patience is key, especially in a hunt or battle. In time, your crouch will be good," he added. Moto remembered his mother teaching him the same thing, and a pang of sadness came over him as he thought of her. But, he shook his head, then looked at Maliha again. "I think that's enough for now. Let's head back, shall we?" he asked, flicking his tail inquisitively.

'Hello Kani! We're telling a story about hyenas!' Aleela said and then looked at Alika. 'Yeah, you're right. Though my dad saved me and the king also did. The hyenas were afraid of us but they still were too hungry. They said that they beat up them and escaped. How did cubs beat up hyenas? We were surprised. However, the king gave them food. And let me remember what happened then...'

Tafari's eyes widened he was not happy at the thought of his father still around since he was abandoned by him when his mother was pregnant with him.''Yea....'' He said and his ears pinned back towards his head

Bahati smiled and left the cave looking around as she watched the pride move around. She soon spotted Busara the majardomo and ran towards him. ''Busara,Busara. Uhuru had her cubs.'' She said excitedly after stopping in front of Busara.

Umeko woke up and mewed in protest she then cuddled against her brother Uki.Umeko looked around and saw her father Ubora and tried to get his attention she was already becoming like a daddy's girl.

Zula looked at Mara. Meanwhile she was getting nervous with more and more lions surrounding her. But, she looked at Mara and Busara again and said "I-I'm s-sorry to b-be rude. But, my name is-is Zula." She continued "Are there anymore c-cubs my age?" She asked with a nervous tone in her voice.

Kensai saw the cub and stayed near the cave, he had really become a loner and sighed looking down.

Iyafa's pupils shrank. "Those Cubs must've been brave," she murmured. "If I were a young cub being chased by hyenas, I'd just run for my life." She thought about the day she became isolated from her birth pride after being driven off by hyenas. The amount of fear she had felt was extreme, although if the chase had never happened, she'd have never become one of the two Pride Rock storytellers (Or never have even joined the Pridelands, for that matter).

Mara looked down at Zula. "Well Zula, I'd be happy to be your mother until another lioness adopts you," she said and headed back to pride rock. She heard talking coming from the birthing cave, and since she was a very curious lioness, she walked in. "I hope I'm not intruding, I just heard a lot of talking here and decided to see what was going on," she said.

Maliha got up. "Okay! Shall we hear the end of the story?"

Alika's eyes widened as she heard the story. She loved listening to all the stories! She nodded as she agreed with Iyafa's feelings - she would've been terrified!

Radhi's ears folded back as she saw how unhappy Tafari was. She licked his cheek to try and comfort him. "Come on, let's get back to the others. Maybe, one day, you will be a better father to your cubs than your father was to you. Look to the future, don't dwindle on the past."

"That's brilliant news! I've got more good news for everyone - Taji and Rakhi will become mates!"

"Hello Umeko, do you want to come with your father?" Ubora picked her up and put her between his paws so that she was looking into his face. He rubbed his nose on hers.
Uhuru heard Mara's call and welcomed her in. "Come and meet Uri and Umeko!"

Bakari put Zula down. "My daughters Maliha and Alika are just a bit older than you, as well as Mara's son Kani. I'm sure you'll get along with them!"
He called after Mara. "Thank you for offering to look after Zula!"
Then he saw Radhi and Tafari approach. "Radhi, is there any spare food anywhere?"
Radhi shook her head. "I'll hunt for some - is this for the young cub there?"
Bakari nodded. "This is Zula. Zula, this is my older adoptive daughter Radhi and her mate Tafari!"

Kensai slowly snuck away from pride rock hoping no one would see him. He had gotten word that a friend of his was in the pridelands a while ago and had been keeping Marija a secret for she was pregnant with his child.He walked into the small cave "hello Mari how are you"

Marija a reddish Brown lioness smiled "hello ken, I am okay as long as no one knows I am here, the sooner this child is born the better" she said looking down.

Kendal sighed"i need to tell my parents, they will keep you safe until you deliver

'Yeah, the cubs were indeed brave. We did found them. Three cubs and one baby elephant playing on a spot. Guess how they escaped? They only fought with bones and we did see the hyenas a little wounded! From that day, my father sent me to them so that I'm brave like them. But...' Aleela stopped and sighed. 'I was never able to. I was never a perfect lioness. When dad was ill, I even couldn't take care of him much and that's why he left me....' She looked down.

After stopping at the waterhole to drink, Zula felt much better. "Hello, Radhi." She calmly said. "It would be ok if I stayed with Mara? Right?" She asked. "I think she seems really nice to me." She continued. She lied down before she waited for Bakari's answer.

Alika started crying, she couldn't help it. Aleela's story was so sad. However, Alika knew that Aleela needed some comfort too. "We're your family and we will never desert you!"
Maliha had just overheard the last bit of the story. She rolled her eyes as her sister spoke - Alika seemed to know exactly the right things to say at the right times!

Bakari looked down at Zula. "Of course! I think she was taken with you too, and I'm sure you'll get on brilliantly with Mara's son, Kani. Shall I come with you..." Bakari drifted off into the distance. He could see a lion and lioness, but they were too far away to see any detail. "Actually Zula, follow Radhi back to Pride Rock. She will find something for you to eat and keep you safe." Then he looked at Radhi. "I just need to check something out. Can you see if Mara will adopt Zula?"
Radhi nodded, then bent down to Zuri's level. "Follow me Zula! I can tell you about your new home."

Bakari stayed for a little while, just to check Zula was following Radhi. Then he crouched down in the long grass and crept a long distance nearer and nearer to the place he'd seen the lions. Soon, he was in earshot and could hear what they were saying. 'Mari... Ken... child... parents... safe' and he thought he recognised the voice. 'Ken...' - it was Kensai. Bakari stood up straight and walked purposely towards Kensai and the other lioness.
"Kensai?" he asked, questioningly. "Who's this?"
