Cheyhaivo watched as Steve slowly pulled out a gun he had packed. He aimed for the alpha and hit his paw, making him limp off. The rest of the pack retreated as Steve loaded he gun again, killing the alpha. He hooked up all the dogs and they went on again.

Raphael gritt his teeth together as he fan, the icy wind and snow burning at the open wounds on his jaw, but tried his best not to let it distract him.

Finally, they reached the last checkpoint. Steve went kn and got the Anit-X- peroxide, along with healing peroxide. Steve ripped a small piece of a blanket he had brought and got some of the peroxide from the healing bottle, and put it on the cloth. He took of his shoe and rubbed the wound that was left. Cheyhaivo and Raphael, by instinct, turned their head to look at Steve. Steve smiled an looked at them. He saw Raphael's jaw. He folded the cloth and got it wet again. He went over to Raphael, who was obviously a little scared but curious at the same time, and gently placed the cloth on the wound. Rubbing it gently as well, St held his collar to prevent him from moving. "There ya go, boy." She smiled and pat him on the head.

Raphael barked happily at Steve and licked his hand friendlily.

Steve laughed and walked back to the sled. "Alright, we have to do the same thing over, just the other direction." He boasted smiling.

Raphael readied himself in his position in the team, ready to take off at his master's orders.

"Mush!" Steve yelled. Cheyhaivo bolted out and almost left the tem standing.

Awesomeness.

As he ran, Raphael's fur bristled wildly in the wind, panting as his tongue was hanging out of his mouth, as he ran in a glorious fashion like no ther. He never felt so alive.

Cheyhaivo was alive, but didn't feel like it. Every time they stopped he'd trowup something. When they reached home, Cheyhaivo coughed and hacked. The next day, Steve took him to the vet, and they kept him overnight.

"I wonder what's wrong with Cheyhaivo..." Raphael said to Willow. "Is he going to be okay?"

I replied to Texas Balto.

Willow looked at him. I don't know." She sighed.

"Well, I'm always here for support, if you need it." Raphael said with a compassionate smile, nuzzling Willow softly.

A few days later Steve came back with Cheyhaivo in his arms. As summer was on its way, snow was scarce. Grass could be seen, and Steve rold his dogs to go into the backyard. Steve lyed down Cheyhaivo in the grass. He grabbed a shovel and started digging.

"No...!" Raphael lowered his ears with a shocked and sad expression on his face.
