Rikkes flew towards the closest tree, settling on a branch, he made sure he could watch the exit of the underground city, so when she came out, he could go to her.

The medics crushed up a could herbs and a little medicine that was sure to make her feel a bit better. After about an hour she was feeling a bit better herself. Racheal stood up and hobbled out of the room, she walked out of the underground kingdom and stumbled onto the above world. Falling on her knee.

Rikkes dozed until his bird senses heard her come up from underground. He opened his eyes and drifted off the branch, shifting and landing at the same time, jogging towards her to make sure that she was alright.

Racheal took a handful of the cool grass, sighing as she struggled to pull herself off the ground. She made it shakily to her feet and glanced at Rikkes. Why had he waited for her? Why didn't he run off and be free like all the other escaped convicts did? Racheal whistled for Zorro, her big black stallion galloping to her.

Rikkes slowed to a stop by her side, kneeling next to her, "you alright there?" he asked quietly, giving her a gentle smile.

Racheal nodded and took a quick and sharp breath. She stroked Zorro's nose before grabbing his reigns and pulling herself up. Zorro placed his head on her kneck and whinnied quietly, loving to feel her again. Racheal smiled and looked over at Rikkes. "Why did you wait for me?" She asked, looking him over suspiciously.

Rikkes got to his feet, brushing himself off. He shrugged, "I um.... I don't know," he paused for a good length of time, "I guess I just didn't want to leave without saying goodbye, and giving you this." he said, holding out the necklace with the coiled dragon he had bought her in the underground city, it's emerald little gem eyes gleaming in the sunlight.

Racheal nodded and smiled some, seeing the necklace made her feel a little more important. She took it gently from his hands and slipped it around her neck. She looked over at Zorro, "Isn't it beautiful?" She asked her horse, getting a whinny in return. She looked over at Rikkes and smiled, "It is beautiful. Thank you." She said before getting onto Zorro's back. "So... Is this where the story stops?" She asked, referring to them adventuring together.

Rikkes shrugged, "That depends." he glanced around the area, weary since they were in the open. "It depends on if you want to to stop or not."

Racheal grinned and looked him in the eyes, "Bye Rikkes." She said before kicking Zorro's sides, riding him off into the woods. When she got to the border line of the forest she turned and looked at Rikkes, flashing a quick smile before disapearing into the trees.

Rikkes shook his head, smiling before turning away from where she had been, walking in the opposite direction, as soon as he was concealed, he shifted into a horse and began to steadily trot away. He would find a village, buy a map, and go home to his books, quills, and paper.

The thought about turning back and riding with him crossed her mind briefly. It was obvious that her heart was torn in two places, one half with the shape shifiting man whom she had come to know and bond with. She sighed, stopped Zorro for a second before shaking her head. Zorro turned his head and looked at his rider, noting the hint of depression in her posture. Racheal shook her head, "It's okay Zorro, we're going to keep moving. Straight to the southern kindgom." She said and kicked his sides. She thought for more and more minutes before finally turning Zorro. She used as much strength as she could and kicked his sides hard, sending the horse in a hasty gallop. She soon caught up with Rikkes, leaping off of Zorro's back and onto his. She smiled some, that hurt. Running her small hands through his beautiful mane, Rachael paused for a moment. "I never walk away from an adventure." She said and chuckled weakly. She lay her head on his neck and relaxed. Zorro keeping pace, even though he was quite jealous of the shifter.
