Arthur shrank down onto his knees, hot angry tears rushing down his cheeks.
"Da**it.." He muttered, shaking. "Da**it Alfred..Why do you f***ing have to care so much?" Arthur whimpered to himself, finally breaking down.

In the first chamber, Alfred was strapped tightly down to a large white table. The top part of his jumpsuit removed, and he had a small section of his lower chest marked where his lungs were. He shook, pure terrified. The scientist smirked, placing a hand on his stomach.
"You ready to breath underwater?" He asked, before plunging a large needle into Alfred's chest. His breath hitched, and he quickly blacked out.

Brooklyn looked at the small piece of bread Carl gave her. She prused her lips and then looked back at Carl glaring. But Brooklyn wasn't able to eat because Carl grabbed Alfred and three other scientist grabbed Xander. Brooklyn bolted to the front of the cage. "Da***t! Let them go!" Brooklyn yelled, tears filling up in her eyes again. She couldn't see them come out like how Arthur and Riley did before. The more she thought about was to see them dead. Brooklyn knew shed be next soon but didn't want to think about it. Carl who was standing in front of Arthur and Alfred's cage looked at Brooklyn and smirked. "Hmm... I've been wondering for a while if you will survive these tests... There's been many rumors you'll not surive do to those... problem of yours, and I have to agree with them. It's ashame to see such a pretty little girl have to go through all of this," he said pausing for a second then said, "Tough luck for you," smirking as he walked pass her. Brooklyn remained silent for along time, staring at were Carl stood. In the next second she was on her knees in to much shock to cry. Brooklyn known deep down she may be the one to die first, mostly because of her ADD. But she didn't want to belive it could be true. And know she felt like there was such a bigger chance after what Carl had said.

Xander jolted awake, he didn't open his eyes immediately though. His senses where dulled so he just groaned. A sudden high pitched buzzing sound made him jump with surprise which only made a sharp pain go through his wrist. He opened his eyes and yelped "Why does everything look like an old movie?!" he stammered looking wildly around. He could no longer see colors... just dulled shades of grey and black. His eyes were no longer amber either, they were now a deep dark green... with a few flecks of gold. He heard laughter and looked with confusion at one of the scientists who held a small tin whistle in his hands.
"Dog whistle, only the keen canine ear can hear it..." he blew on it once more and Xander twitched and withered at the agonizing sound. His wrists hurt worst and he looked up. He was hanging by his wrist which were in some kind of cuff mounted to the wall. Blood ran down his arms and he could see that the cuffs had barbed-wire strung into them. The jagged wire had cut deep gashes into his wrists.
"What the h*** did you do to me!" Xander demanded, but the scientist only laughed.
"Be thankful boy... you're not a complete mutant like your friend with the wings!" he sneered.
Xander looked at him quietly, but the man pulled out a massive needle. "Get the f*** away with that!" he growled.
"A simply anesthetic, could kill a human... but not a canine..." the man said, before he could react he sank the needle deep into Xander's arm and the boy became limp.
"I don't think it worked..." one of the men said uncuffing Xander and letting him fall limp to the floor.
"Take him back... show those kids what happens when they don't listen." he sneered.

"DA**IT LEAVE US THE F*** ALONE!" Arthur snarled, banging his hands on the chain. His fists were quickly cut, and he gripped them tightly, wishing Alfred were back and he were in his friends place.

Alfred's mind wandered while he was out. He mainly thought of Arthur, then ways to escape. He awoke quickly, taking a large breath, before wincing.
"Don't breath to hard sugar." Carl growled, patting the boy's chest. Alfred shrank back before Carl pulled him up, pushing him through the door. Arthur's head shot up and he jumped up, a terrifyed look in his eye. Alfred gazed hazily up at Arthur, before being shoved into the cell with his friend.
"Have fun ladies!" Carl mocked, as Arthur caught Alfred.
"Alfie!?" Arthur whimpered, pulling Alfred up onto the bed to lay down.
"I-its hard to breath..." The american heaved, shaking. Arthur was tearing up again and he smiled down at his friend.
"I-was...so worried...about y-you.." Arthur whispered, leaning his head onto the back of the wall. The two sat together, Arthur cradling Alfred in his lap until the door opened. The boy's eyes widened when Xander came out, and he nearly gagged.

Everything was so fast, one moment I was hesitently picking up the small piece of bread, and the next both Alfred and Xander were taken. "NO!" I screamed for both of them, not wanting anyone to experiance what had happened to me. I looked over at Arthur who had tears running down his cheeks. I wanted to comfort him, that soft spot I had ached and I had to look away. I couldn't cry anymore, I was dehydrated as it was. I sat on the floor of my cell and placed my head between my knees.My fingers gripped chunkfulls of hair until they tugged Alfred out "Alfie!" I said running to the fence and sticking my arms through to rub his back "What did they do to you?!" I sobbed thinking of the sweet, happy boy that was the ray of sunshine here. I sobbed and the saw Xander "My....God...." I gasped seeing him so broken. I kept rubbing Alfred's back, hoping to make him smile agian. Carl came along and wrote something down on a piece of paper then clipped it to my cell "You have flying lessons in a few hours pretty little bird" He sneered. I faltered. My dream...The falling....Oh Sh*t, I thought.

Alfred shivered at Riley's touch, and faintly smiled at Arthur's words. He breathed quietly, and Arthur lay his head on Alfred's shoulder, burying his eyes in the other's neck.
"They..said something about breathing u-underwater..?" The american stuttered, shrugging.
"Then they gave me something...and i blacked out." He said sadly, then feeling more tears coming onto his neck. The sight of Carl infuriated Arthur, but the Britain simply linked his arms protectively around Alfred's waist, pulling him closer. Carl smirked, and clipped something on Riley's cage.
"What..Ri- You can't..fly?" Alfred asked, cocking his head.

I gace a sad smile at Alfred as he started aksing questions "Well, no, i'm actually terrified of hieghts..." I said embarrased. I looked at Arthur who was hugging Alfred so tightly...I wish he would hold ME like that... I thought a bit jelouse. I bit my lip then looked at Alfred "You should eat..." I said moving from the fence and picking up my piece of bread from the ground. I brushed it off and went back to the fence "Here, take mine, it's not like I was going to eat it anyways..." I said.

Alfred shook his head.
"No thaaanks." He said, politely pushing the stale bread away. He leaned back against Arthur who sighed.
"We're...never going to get out of this, are we Ri?" The Brit asked, gazing at her with his big green eyes. Alfred took in another shaky breath befor sighing aswell.
"Da**.." Alfred said, struggling to find his glasses that were on the floor. Arthur chuckled and picked them up.
"Here." He said, putting them on for his friend.

My hands shook when Arthur talked to me. I licked my dry lips and decided to nibble on the bread "I don't know...I mean...Maybe, once I learn to use these...These..." I was about to scream but I just swallowed and took a deep breath "Once I learn to use my new...Gifts?" I chuckled once and popped a piece of bread into my mouth, "maybe i'll be able to over power them and get everyone else out...It's a long shot because I'm probably the wimpiest one here, but who knows..." I looked at the bread, half eaten and tossed it over my shoulder. I watched as Arthur put Alfred's glasses on for him, my face went bright red. I felt like I wasn't supposed to see them being nice to each other, I pulled on my shoulder length hair and looked at it. Trying to make it seem like I wasn't paying attention to their...Affection.

Alfred blinked and then looked down at his legs. He looked around, and then back to Arthur, finding his face closer than he thought. Arthur laughed quietly, and pushed Alfred out of his lap and onto the bed. He stood, and walked over to the plate of bread. The brit looked dissapprovingly at it, but picked it up and walked back over to their bunk.
"I know..it's gonna suck and we're not hungry but we need to eat. If we're going to escape then we need our strength." Arthur said, thrusting the plate into Alfie's shaky hands. Alfred stared then grinned his bright grin.
"Yeah." He said, picking up a small peice. Arthur smiled and looked at Riley then frowned.
"Ri? Can i..." He began staring longingly at her wings. "Feel..your wings?" He asked, walking over to the chain that seperated them.

My breath caught and I swallowed a large gulp of air "Uh...Sure, if you want." I said ducking my head and trying to pretend like I didn't care if he touched me or not. I was actually curious if I would feel it or not. Part of me was really excited for his touch, but the other part was terrified. I played with my hair some more and tried to hide my bright red cheeks.

Arthur nodded and pushed his hand through the chainlink fence. He brushed his hand along the thick base of Riley's wings, then felt the soft downy feathers. He felt the wing he was touching flutter, and he almost laughed. Alfred got up to stand beside Arie and began to feel her wings too.
"Wow...soft," Alfred sighed, leaning casually against Arthur who continued to play with a feather he had found that stuck out.
"I like this one." He stated, pulling lightly on the odd feather.

I flinched slightly at them touching a place that was so...New. It's weird feeling something you've never felt before. My wings jolted at Arthur's touch but quickly settled. I sighed and leaned my head back on my shoulders. I felt everything, every feather being tugged, every stroke. I sort of felt like a dog for a bit but then started to except to attention. Besides, Arthur was touching me so it was alright with me. My chest haved and I coughed slightly "Oh noooo" I moaned "I can't get sick! That'd be horrible!" I felt another cough come up and my chest heaved agian "Arg!" I sighed rubbing behind my neck and looking over at Arthur and Alfred, maybe they shouldn't be touching them. I might give them bird flew, I chuckled at my thought.
