Suddenly, the bell rang. Syrock threw his hands in the air. "What are we supposed to tell the gym teacher?" he said. "That Martha ran into a post? That won't exactly help us with looking smart."

Syrock nodded, rolling his eyes at the same time. "When you trip it's an accident," he whispered to himself, "...But when you fall, you're just stupid."

"First of all," said Martha, still embarrassed. She gave Syrock and Kira icy stares. "I ran into it, at a super-human speed..." she murmured so only they could hear. "Second, is it only the Guardians that know who I am, or is it like you guys print a special paper once a month?" she joked, smirking lightly.

Syrock shook it off and kept walking, following the rest of them. "I wasn't making fun of you, Martha!" he said with a laugh. "I just say that whenever I see a nerd fall in the hallway for no reason." Then, he stopped laughing and said, "Wait! That came out wrong!"
Facepalm.

"Syrock, you're not helpping." said Kira. "Anyway, Martha, the entire class aren't creatures, the teacher is but we need an excuse for everyone as well."

"Okay, I'll say I was reading MArtha's mid to make sure she didn't have brain damage," SHa called out sarcastically.
Elizabeth and Miri walked into the gym. "Where are they?" Elizabeth hissed.

Syrock made a face. "Now that's just disgusting." he told Martha. He went through the door, following the others. "How about we had some 'private business' to take care of. The teachers have no right to intrude on personal matters."

Shay nodded. "Good idea," she said, nodding her head slightly. "It would be better if I could control minds without it taking so much energy up though," she said, her voice sounding sligtly wistful.

Kira sighed. "Martha, you sure you're ready to walk? I mean you're superhuman, but your powers haven't fully matured yet."
