In my opinion they shouldnt mention the year, make Balto get any older, or have him die. o_o BaltoTrain1996 wrote: If Balto died in another movie I'd be SOOOOOOO PISSED!!!!! I'd probably also be bawling my eyes out at the same time ChingChongChi-Neez wrote: Nobody ever dies in a kids movie. Not exactly true. In most of the 2D Disney movies the parent of the main character often died (The Lion King, The Fox and the Hound, Bambi, etc.) That is why I try to stay away from Disney.....

@ Flagionologyistic: I've combined your posts this time, but in the future, please don't double post. Alkan wrote: We all agree 'that it would suck'! Hmm. Check the poll. At least 53 members either don't care or would dance for joy. I among them. Though personally, I think the options are to dramatic for the most part. It's not preferable that he dies but, if done right, could add more impact to the story. ...as historically incorrect as it may be.

'Kay...in two instances in the quotes below, I am admittedly stepping back in time in the topic a bit. But you know what? I don't really care that I am. ZukotheCat wrote: Why bother. He IS dead. This is just another crude statement that fails to acknowledge the historical and emotional significance the real dog (and other dogs from the real serum run) STILL has to a great number of people...not only fans of this little cartoon movie trilogy, but also to Siberian Husky aficionados, mushers, those whose children, relatives or ancestors suffered from diphtheria (and may have died from it), etc. Alkan wrote: Then that's just ripping the Balto seires evenfurther from the TRUE story of his life. But if it were really to happen i would be super angry! Answer I: I'd howl in sorrow! No writer or director would ever need help in doing that. Amblimation and Universal already did enough to throw the history book right out the window when they created the first movie. Tibbeh wrote: Bambi Fletcher wrote: If he dies, I will execute the directors with a bullet on each of their heads. Lol - that much 'anger' towards an animated dog? What? I'm sorry, but so much of this topic reminds me what's wrong with a lot of hardcore fans of movies & stuff. "If Balto died I'd shoot the directors." "If he died I'd be sad forever!!" "I'd sue Universal for killing him!" Really kids, it's an animated doggy. The real Balto has been dead for a long time. Don't get your panties in a bunch over something that'd never happen in the movies anyway. Agreed, Tibb. Totally. Not only are there a bunch of ridiculous statements in this topic (including by those who haven't overreacted) but, as someone else said a few pages back, the choices in the poll are largely ridiculous. Of COURSE the death of the character would have impact...the two actors who portrayed him did so in a very fine manner, and gave him life...enough that he's struck a chord in the memory of plenty of Balto movie fans. And there's NOTHING wrong with that? Would a well-written, dramatic death for the character be interesting and even great to watch? Probably. If done poorly, it would ruin things. Utterly. Would I stand up and cheer? Give me a freakin' break. And anyone in here who said that really needs to consider why they said it. Not only how it would impact other fans who care about the character (because throwing out that statement is a callous barb, and you all darned-well KNOW it is), but to consider the question of why they are even in the Balto forums posting at all if they would cheer over the death of the main character.

I'd howl with sorrow. He was a hero of pure heart. He will be remembered foryears to come. Ironically though, I have a fanfiction planned where Balto AND Jenna get killed off.
