"Trust me, I don't want to either," Rue said.

"Neither do I....what do you think will happen if we just refuse?" Kara asked.

The collars didn't go off, so Pascal thought the whitecoats didn't care what they did; it only provided more for their research. "I don't think they care..." he confessed, "If they're studying our behaviour, then this only gives them more observation."

Lark thought of this idea as possible, but it didn't concern their safety either. "Well, if they don't care what we do, how about we just... leave?" Lark was answered by a shock to the collar, a low hum eminating from it as it stung him. It stopped after two and a half seconds, and he let out a sigh.

"I'll take that as a no." Pascal replied, somewhat smirking behind his hands.

"Well, if we can't leave, I'm at least gonna sit down," Kara said, collapsing into a sitting positition.

When nothing happened, Pascal fell onto the floor as well. "So what do we do now?"

Rue sighed as she sank down onto the floor next to them. "I don't know," she confessed. Did she mention how much she hated having to say that? "Lark? You have any ideas?"

"Well we can't turn around." Lark offered, sitting on the ground as well. "We can't fly either. So I can't say I have a plan."

"All we can do is keep going," Kara said glumly.

Rue put a hand on her shoulder comfortingly. "Hey, come on. Max and Fang and the others have been in situations way worse than this before. And they survived plenty of times. We'll make it out of here in no time, you'll see."

"Yeah," Pascal agreed reluctantly, though still staying seated. "I guess you're right."

"The problem is our experience levels." Lark insisted, standing back up and stretching his legs out. "They ran and fought their whole lives, where as we grew up easy in our own little secluded house."

"But we still know how to fight. And they were living peacefully in a house for about six years before they started being on the run," Rue reminded Lark.

"But they knew where they came from." Lark retorted. "We, on the other hand, were left with stories we never thought were true. They learned firsthand."

"C'mon guys." Pascal interrupted. "If we want to get this test overwith..."

"I do too," Kara put in timidly. It was unusual for the normally talkative, cheerful girl to be so quiet and downcast. Then again, she had been put through quite a lot recently, and wasn't used to coping with it.

Rue put an arm around Kara's shoulders, noticing the tremor in her voice. "Then we'll just have to keep moving forward," she sighed heavily. She put out a hand to help Lark up after she stood.

Lark took her hand and pulled himself up, giving a sigh. "Let's just see what's on the end of this thing." he suggested to no one in particular.

"Hey," exclaimed Pascal, "While we walk, we can think of ways to escape after this."

"There are probably cameras..." Rue said.

"Yeah, Pasc." Lark agreed. "That might not be a good idea."

"Sorry." Pascal mumbled.

"It's okay," Rue shrugged.

"I probably would've said something if you hadn't," Kara added with a small, timid smile.
