"Hey Silversnow!" Greeted Nightstar as calmly as she could. "Are you excited? I know I am. All this training will finally pay off!"

"yeah! We're finally going to be fighters!" she said, seeing teh excitement Nightsatr was trying to hide behind a veil of calmness. A thin veil. Her own paws were tingling, and she felt just as excited as Nightstar looked, or maybe more.

Nighstar rolled her eyes, slightly annoyed. Then her ears pricked as she hear Eninai's familiar call. She raced up to the Leader's Ledge. "This is it," She thought, "This is what I've been training for all these moons..."

ooc--Sorry, but I'm getting a little sick of Silversnow's mind-reading ability. She always, always knows exactly what Nightstar is thinking and it's starting to drive me nuts. Make it a little more realistic and give Silversnow some weakness, please? She's acting like some kind of superwolf >P

ooc- Sorry, sure. Just for the record though, I can usually tell with people I've been friends with for a long time, so I wasn't trying to make it fictional or anything. Ok?

Silversnow dashed after Nightstar, excitement flooding her. Eninia's howl dropped off as everyone gathered below Leader's LEdge, waiting. SHe felt as if a ballon of joy was growing in her, buursting and spreading excitement through her, making her paws tingle and her gaze flicker from wolf to wolf, hyper, waiting for something she had been striving for since she was first apprenticed.

ooc--Still, it's seriously bugging me. Particularly this one:

That just drove me NUTS. When I said "too quietly for Silversnow to hear", I meant it! She wasn't supposed to be able to hear it...and there's just no way she could have adjusted her ears at that time like that. Even if she had, it was TOO QUIET. Seriously.

But anyhow, back on topic...

Eninai began with the traditional opening. "Wolves of the Tribe of the North," She called, "Seasons pass, and pups become Apprentices. Our Apprentices train very hard to fulfill the role they will one day play: Either a pup will hunt and gather food for the Tribe, and become a Hunter, or they will learn to fight and defend our territory, becoming a Fighter. Today, we have a group of Apprentices who have been training very hard for the last five seasons. It is time they where moved up." Nightstar held her head proudly as Eninai said these words. Ever since she...or any other Tribe wolf...was born, they looked forward to this moment. "Nightstar, please come forward." Hiding the feeling of butterflies in her stomach, Nighstar climbed up to the Leader's Ledge. "Nightstar," Eninai spoke proudly gazing down at the soon-to-be Fighter, "You have trained long and hard in the ways of a Fighter, and your mentor tells me that you are ready to become one. Do you, Nightstar, accept the call of a Fighter and all it's responsibilities?" "I am," Nightstar replied, voice shaking in anticipation. Eninai continued. "And are you, Nightstar, willing to give up you're life for your Tribe, if necessary?" Nightstar repeated, "I am." "And are you, Nightstar, trustful in the Tribe of the Stars, that they will always watch over you on your journey, up until the moment that you join them?" Last question, last answer. Nighstar gazed clearly into Eninai's stare as she replied, "I am." "Then by my authority as Leader and by the power of the Tribe of the Stars, I declare you a Fighter to the Tribe of the North. Serve us well." Nightstar, be the tradition, let loose a long, clear howl, a mark that the young white wolf was officially considered and adult member and Fighter of the Tribe.

Silversnow stared st Nightstar, amazed by teh fact that she was soon going to become a fighter. It seemed to cancel out the world around her. "SIlversnow, please come forward," seemed to echo dimly in her ears. She walked up, the other wolves watching her. Trying hard to hide her nervousness, she waited as Eninai repeated the same words that seemed so familiar, except she was usually one of the crowd. She gave "I do's" when needed and as it finished, she let out a howl that echoed down to the crowd gathered below. She still felt as if in a daze as she listened to David becoming a hunter after her.

Nighstar barley heard the test of the ceremony in her utter amazement and excitement. She grinned at Silversnow, sharing her feelings with her silver friend.

Silversnow smiled back, feeling as if in a dream still.

The ceremony ended around noon. Eninai padded up to Nightstar and Silversnow. "Congratulations," She said, smiling. "You two have trained well. And now we are going to see just how good you've become. I would like you two to join Blackriver, Melony and Dawn on the Evening Patrol tonight." Nightstar blinked gratefully. "Yes, that would be great." She responded smoothly. Eninai nodded coolly. "And Silversnow?" She pressed on.

"Yeah, that would be great," she said, echoing Nightstar. she smiled at Eninai, finallt coming out of the daze.

Eninai smiled gratefully. "Excellent. Meet them as soon as the sun begins to set; they'll be waiting just outside the western side of Camp." Nighstar nodded. "Will do, Eninai. Thank you for inviting us." Eninai chuckled softly. "You have good manners, young wolf. That is a good quality to possess in the Tribes." Nightstar blinked gratefully, her ice blue eyes glowing with praise.

"Thank you Eninai," she said, echoing Nightstar. Her green eyes looked at the alpha, still glittering with excitement.

Eninai smiled again and walked off. "So," Nightstar began, turning to Silversnow. "Our first patrol as Fighters! That's pretty exciting!" She pawed the ground impatiently.

"I know!" Silversnow agreed enthusiastically. Her plumed tail wagged slightly, happiness and excitement making her green eyes glow warmly. "I can't wait for the sun to set!" she said, glancing an impatient glance at the slow moving,fiery orb.

Sure enough, the great circle finally began to set after many hours in the camp. Nightstar noticed as a few wolves began to assemble at the camp exit. "That's us," She said, nudging Silversnow. "Let's go!" She took off in that direction, eager to begin the patrol.
