Fang walked up to Bashkei. "Yes...its me." he said. "I...I made it to Nome after I left..." he said, he'd had to leave, some of the pack's members were less than kind to him because he was mostly dog. "I became real good friends with Kodi...when I heard he was Kodi's mate, I...well I basically treated her like my sister." he said. "...The one that took her...his name is Mako, he owns a dog fighting ring...but she's too small for him to use." he said. "In the ring but...there are other reasons a man like him would kidnap her..."
The face of Aniu appeared tranluscent before Kodi's face. The Raven screeched and vanished into snow.

"Mako...?" Bashkei asked, but he didn't care, the words 'dog fighting ring' stuck out in his head. He growled low. "I know, and I appreciate you didn't say it in front of the pups." he said, and sat down slowly. "To think I would come back to my daughter...Pheh, makes no difference, I'm coming with you...for Katie." he said, and looked about, his eyes seemed a bit more dangerous now.
Kodi's eyes widned, and he stood there, slack jawed at the face her beheld.

"But that does have its positives." said Balto. "If that's why Mako wolfnapped her, her life is safe until she goes into heat." he said. "Only thing is, we don't know when that is." he said. "Do you have any idea when that would be?"
Lena tugged her grandfather's fur. "Grandpa, you don't know our names." she said. "I'm Lena and this is my sister Tai." she said. "Momma named us after her momma, Lenatei. This is Kai, he's named after you, and this is momma's little North Star Cachen...does Cachen's name ring a bell to you?"
OOC: I just assumed Tai was also named after Lenatei (if I spelled that right), Kai's name isn't identical to Bashkei's last syslable.

Bashkei grinned. "Sorry, I wouldn't know. Her first time was after she met your son." he chuckled, before looking at little Lena. He smiled as he looked at the stripe down her back. He himself had one, as did his Mother, and of ocurse Katie. His family still passed on ot his grandchildren. Bashkei chuckled as he heard their names, and rubbed Lenba's head with a huge paw. "Well, I bet your smile is as bright as your Grandma's, she could light the darkest cave with that smile." he turned to Kai, looking at him. "And I see your Mother's not forgotten about me."
At least, amazed, he looked ot little Cachen. "Cachane...Little North Star...I was definitely not forgotten...tohugh, you young sir look much more like your other Grandfather." he chuckled.
Goldie blinked softly, hiding behind Cachen nervously. She had never seen such a big wolf.

"Cachen gets that a lot." said Lena, giggling as her head was rubbed. "I know this is a bad time for reunions but...we never thought we'd see you, we all that you were...you know, dead."
Cachen giggled. "We're glad you're not." he said. "But we're just confused." he said, he giggled at Goldie. "Calm down Goldie, this is my grandpa."

"I thought I was too..." said Bashkei "Actually, you were all just born, I heard you crying. But, I gave your Mama and your Papa some alone time." Bashkei couldn't stand reliving the memory. "A hunter was getting closer ot the den, so I tried to stop him; he shot me. But, my brother saved my life." a smile returned ot his face, thinking about Nava, he and Katie were his last family left.
Goldie slowly came out, sitting herself beside Cachen. She still seemed nervous.

"Grandpa, this is my girlfriend Goldie." said Cachen. "I love her."

Bashkei chuckled at little Lena...she was like Katie in so many ways-and she probably didn't even know it! Leaning down slowly, somewhat unsure, Bashkei nuzzled his granddaughter. "I've missed your Mama, too, Lena..." he tried out the name in his mouth, and it brought back memories of his little family.
As he picked his great head up, the aging wolf turned ot little Cachen, still smiling; those big bright, puppy eyes...He already knew the little male's devotion to Katie. At the golden husky, Bashkei smiled wider. "So, the littlest is first to find a girlfriend?" he asked, bemused. "Well, good going..." at one thought, he turned to Balto. "Speaking of moving, don't you think we should?"
Goldie smiled, and snuggled into Cachen. She whispered gently into her boyfriend's ear. "That.. wasn't as bad as I thought....but your Grandpa's huge!" she giggled

Kai couldn't say a word, only stared at his Grandfather, shocked and amazed at him;meanwhile, his tail wagged furiously.
Tai smiled, coming up and affectionately nuzzling Bashkei, before gently nipping at his chin, as a sign of pure respect.
"Sadist?" Bashkei asked, before smiling at the little wolfdog below him. Once more his head turned to Balto....if this human had Katie, his own little North Star...a deep growl rumbled in his throat. Bashkei stood, making Tai back off slowly. "Then why are we wasting time?" he asked, ears forward, and his eyes hard as steel.

Tai nodded and trotted to her Papa. "Ready!"
Bashkei looked down at Cachen, and could not say anything harsh to him. "Someone...someone very bad..." he said, and couldn't say more, not to the young puppy face Cachen had.
Kodi nodded. "I'm Ready."

Bashkei nodded, and looked to Balto. This was going to be difficult, Aniu's son was every bit a leader as the old Alpha was...but, he respected Aniu too much to do anything. "I think it's unanimous, we're all ready." he looked down at Cachen, and once more stroked his head. "We're getting her back, don't worry."

Balto nodded. "Alright, mush!" he said, not realizing until after he said that Bashkei wouldn't know what that meant. He looked at the old wolf. "Its a sled term...it just means move out." he said.
Cachen nuzzled his grandfather. "That's grandpa."
OOC: If alright, while Katie is gone, Cachen will attach to Bashkei as closely he was with Katie but change that affection back to Katie when they find her.
