Sorry for being so long, guys. I was switching internet providers, and my first canceled before the second arrived. *sheesh* But, I"m back.

Balto flinched as Keso came within a hair's breadth of him and turned, only to come dashing back at him once again. He leapt backwards and watched as Keso's teeth closed around air where his neck had been. A close call. He quickly regained his fighting stance and let a deep growl escape his muzzle as he sized up his adversary. Keso was certainly well-built, likely from months of training, and was therefore better-suited to combat than he. But this would not stop Balto. He would give his own life before the brute came within reach of Jenna. His mind settled, Balto dove at Keso, jaws open and ready...

Cale felt he dagger like claws rake down from the top of his hed to his muzzle. He closed his eyes before the blow had landed, so both were spared the claws, though one claw came perilously close to raking out his left eye. Keeping his hold on Kalgorn's wrist, he twisted his head sharply to one side, pushing his fangs deeper into the skin and down into the bone as he did, hoping to hear a satisfying crack within a minute. When finally he let go of the wrist for another attack, the skin had been torn horribly and blood seeped out.

The white wolf reached a clawed forepaw up towards Kalgorn's chest and swiped at him, once, twice, three times, trying to drag his claws straight down from the base of his neck, to the beginning of his legs each time. He then leapt backwards a couple paces and began to charge for the other wolf, lowering his head so that if he hit Kalgorn, he'd send him flying, hopefully into a nearby bush or tree.

Keso growled quietly as his jaws clicked together on nothing but air. He straightened up, eyes following Balto's movements, watching his opponent carefully. Keso saw Balto's attack coming, from years of sparring, but made his own mistake as he underestimated the force with which he'd launched himself at Keso. Keso took only a few steps back to avoid the attack, but gasped in a mixture of surprise and anger as the hybrid's teeth still closed around his left foreleg.

In pure insult at having his teeth around him, Keso began to shake his leg vigorously, at the same time, trying to move Balto as he lifted his paw and then hoping to stamp down hard on him. The black wolf after a short while, succeeded in removing Balto's teeth from his leg, the marks red and bleeding and glared deeply at the half-dog before charging and leaping at him, jaws and claws spread.

Kalgorn felt the agony as Cale twisted his wrist at an angle until a crack came from the limb in his jaws. Blood flowing down his chin. This time, Kalgorn was unable to hide his pain. He howled as the bone snapped sickeningly. Pain shot up his entire arm as he raised his head up in pain. The teeth only ground down harder though. That is, until they finally released the bloody paw. Then, before Kalgorn could react, he started clawing at his chest. Several times before he stopped and jumped back, then charged him.

With only 3 legs, Kalgorn threw himself out of the wolf's way and rolled over several times. Leaving a trail of blood in the snow. He was getting torn up out here. He had to do something to turn this battle on his side. The white fur on his paw and forearm had now been turned scarlet red, and his chest was becoming the same. Taking several breaths, he pushed himself forward with his two hind legs. Launching his body towards Cale.

His shoulder collided with the white wolf's side first, and they both fell to the ground. Rolling over each other until they came to a stop. Kalgorn on top of Cale. Since he knew he'd be pushed off with ease any second, he changed his postion and sat on Cale.

Using his uninjured arm, he pressed it to Cale's throat, and, with his claws, started squeezing the throat vein.

Balto grinned in satisfaction as his teeth found purchase in Keso's front paw. He bit down as hard as he could, hoping to break the bone. Before he could, though, Keso managed to shake him off. Even so, he was pleased at the effect his teeth had had. He tasted the blood in his mouth and smiled again, daring Keso to try again.

Then, as if in answer to his thoughts, Keso lept at him. He had no time to react and was knocked completely over onto his back.

Jenna, having seen this, bared her teeth and came running at Keso, her muzzle curled in a snarl.

Though Kalgorn had now situated himself so that he sat atop Cale, preventing his movement from that spot, he failed to keep his paws from moving. Feeling the paw and claws pressing against his throat, he reacted from pure instinct and began kicking, pushing, clawing, any and every type of movement that can describe the sporadic way the two forelegs flailed. At the same time, he began wiggling, thrashing beneath Kalgorn. When he'd succeeded in freeing himself, he stood quickly and leapt on top of Kalgorn, snarling and biting at his nose and neck.

Keso stood over top of Balto, about to bite down on his neck, when his ears perked up and heard rushed footfalls toward him. He turned and jumped backwards, out of the way of the fae before she got near him then growled himself and shouted, "You! Stay out of this you husky *****! Unless you want to put your pretty neck on the line for this half-blood, stay on the sidelines!" He swiped at her neck with his paws, malice gleaming in his eyes.

Kalgorn whined as Cale sank his fangs into his nose, the other razor teeth were cutting at his muzzle. Causing him to begin bleeding there as well. But he was determined not to lose this fight or have to have Balto come to his aid. He'd gotten himself into this and he wanted to get himself out. After hearing what Keso called Jenna, he felt a cross between annoyance and anger. He growled and, with Cale over her going for his neck, he threw out his own arm and put it to Cales now red chest. It was probably his blood that had gotten on the white wolfs fur, but he didn't care. Right now he had to get this wolf off him.

Using his legs, he lifted them and pressed them against his lower stomach, launching Cale off him. Now acting as quick as he could, he got to his paws and took a step back, watching Cale rise to his own paws once again. As the two starred at each other, Kalgorn knew why Cale was smiling. Not only had he only put a few cuts on Cale while he had broken his wrist as well as caused more cuts than he cared to count on him, but it was painfully obvious who had the upper paw here. Well, he didn't care who it seemed was going to win this, Kalgorn was determined to win. Even with only 3 legs useful to him. His injured one he kept hanging in the air, it was too painful to put any weight on it.

Jenna's eyes lit up with pure anger at Keso's words.
"If you think I'll just step aside, you've got another thing coming pal," she growled, "You'll not touch a hair on Balto's head without my permission."
She stepped back calmly as Keso swiped at her.
"Temper, temper," she said, laughing despite herself, "There must be a better way to make your feelings known."

Balto, meanwhile, lept to his paws and stood beside Jenna.
"There's no way you're getting through here, Keso," he said, "The cave is well gaurded, and you're having trouble just getting through the three of us. I'd reconsider this whole thing if I were you."
He turned to Jenna.
"Jenna, you can't risk yourself," he whispered, "not even for me, do you understand?"

"But Balto..."

"But nothing. Stay behind me, please, for your safety as well as our..."
He stopped suddenly, and his heart seemed to skip a beat as he realized what he might have just revealed to the wolf trying to kill him and his mate. He straightened up and tried to act as though nothing had happened.

Jenna stepped obidiently behind Balto, but only for the sake of the new life she carried. She knew Balto would never let Keso so much as touch her, but she would be d***ed if she simply stepped aside and watched. She'd rather fight; to the death, if necessary.

Balto risked diverting his attention for a glance back at Jenna. In that instant, he was reminded how beautiful she was and how lucky he was to have a mate like her. He'd see to it that no one laid a paw on her. He would die to protect her. If it was the last thing he did, he would keep Jenna from harm.

(Ooc: Meh, sorry about the wait. I'm going to finally finish with e-school today...well, if the stupid teacher ever gives me the grades for my last couple assignments and the password for the final section...Anyway, sorry.)

Keso smirked but said nothing at first in response to either of them, more curious at watching how Balto's reactions had suddenly changed when Jenna had put herself in danger. Of course it was because she was his mate, but could there be something more to it? He put the thought out of his mind as Balto turned and took his focus off him for that one opportune moment and Keso dove at him, cat-like reactions sending his jaws straight for the flesh low on Balto's neck, near the shoulder. If the blow landed, then Keso would tossed his head viciously a few times, sinking his teeth deeper with every movement until finally pulling Balto to the side and letting go with his teeth, hopefully flinging him at least a few feet away. If he did not succeed, he would simply jump the right and act as though the outburst had never occurred.

"Trouble? I see no trouble in getting past both of you. Only the opportunity to toy with my opponent, and that is one thing I quite enjoy." He shifted his gaze to Jenna and then spoke to her. "If you think that you've seen any ounce of my temper, you are sorely mistaken, fae. You've never once in your life endured such cruelty from one person, living in your cushy warm home with a human. You would never even be able to fathom the things I won't do to bring about the change. To ensure that the wrongs are righted in these woods as well as the world." His grin was dangerous now, teeth seeming to glow red from the blood already spilled on them.

Cale raised himself up on his feet once again and huffed, a little frustrated that he'd let himself get thrown off that pathetic excuse for a wolf so easily. He arched his back to hear a couple satisfyingly loud cracks, then looked toward Kalgorn again and simply grinned. "It'd be better for you if you'd just give up now and side with us. You've no chance of winning this fight, Kalgorn. This is the final time I'll give you the option to join us. After this, you're a traitor to your kind and you will be included in the "cleansing" as all others will be." He laughed harshly, his voice as cold as ice. "So, what do you say, life or death?"

Kalgorn shook his head, blocking out Cale halfway threw his words. He didn't want to hear it. All he cared about right now was finishing the fight. Alive. "Spare me" was all he said. Not caring what theses wolves were up to any more. Whatever it was, it was obviously something the world would be better off without. All it would cause would be alot of bloodshed. "As far as im concerned, the world would be a better place without you, so stop talking and let's finish this." True, he was abit afraid but he couldn't let cowardice get to him. He was no coward, but he wasn't the bravest of wolves either. Cale's gaze was like death himself. Everything about this wolf was giving him the signal that he had full intentions of causing him a painful death. By now, he had no idea how this fight would turn out. He could tell that Cale was pretty confident that this was going to be another victory for him.

Whatever was going on between Balto, Jenna, and Keso, Kalgorn only knew from what he could hear. Taking his attention off of Cale could be deadly. While they stood still, staring each other down, Kalgorn tried thinking of a way to turn this fight into his favor. Going for the neck came to him first, But he could see no way of getting to this wolve's throat. He had to think of something else. Maybe, disable him in some way. Like breaking his legs, or knock the air out of him and take advantage of his temperary weakness. That would require some high speed movements, and that wasn't exactly a very easy task for Kalgorn anymore. The best thing that was coming to him was to break his legs. However many he could manage.

Again, Kalgorn moved first. Slowly, he set his injured leg onto the ground. Immediatly, pain set in. Not enough to cause his leg to give out, but enough to bring a whine to his muzzle. He bit his lip to keep his jaws shut and, with some discomfort, ran towards Cale. Dumb or not, he was tired of waiting. Throwing shoulder into the wolf, he braced himself for some vicious fighting. All he had to do right now though, was get one of his legs into his muzzle and break it. Shouldn't be all that hard, he had four of them. He couldn't defend them all at once.

Balto never had time to react as Keso sank his teeth into his shoulder. He cried out in surprise and pain as he felt the murderer's canines pierce deeper and deeper as he shook his head back and forth. Balto twisted himself forward and clamped his teeth down on Keso's right ear. At this, Keso swung his head hard to the right and sent him skidding along the ground to stop a few yards away. This entire action took less than five seconds, but as he was torn from Keso by the centrifical force of his swing, he felt a small something come off in his mouth. He spat it out in disgust and then realized that he had taken a bit of Keso's right ear off. He grinned and struggled to his paws only to find that his front left leg was quite a deal weaker than usual. Keso's bite had obviously done more damage than he thought.

At the same time, Jenna had witnessed Keso's attack on Balto, but before she could leap in and help, Keso had already tossed Balto away. She stopped abruptly and backed away as her courage drained from her. Kalgorn was confronting Cale, and Keso was now between Balto and she. She was alone, and with no fighting experience, would she even stand a chance?

Jenna flinched as Keso's head moved. Had he just been eyeing her? She stepped back two paces, hoping to widen the distance between them. Now, she was genuinely afraid that her snappy retorts would come back to haut her. Now, she was genuinely afraid for her life.

On Keso's other side, Balto had the same thoughts running thru his head. With his pierced shoulder, he wouldn't be as fast as before. Should Keso try for Jenna's throat, he wasn't sure he could stop him in time...
