Maybe we could ask for a different distribution method, such as the iTunes Store. It sells movies, and putting up a digital file of the movie would be much cheaper than having to manufacture DVD units. Also, since it's just a file that is copied and downloaded every time it's purchased, they wouldn't have to worry about having unsold physical stock.

I guess that would be nice...but still I prefer a proper home theatrical experience. And I think a Blu-Ray release would be just right. Today's times are really shifting into that. I mean a DVD release can still be happen at the same time of course. If they release it this Christmas '09 I would so buy it. *sigh* o Universal...

True. They should release it in as many different formats as they can (iTunes digital download, DVD, Blu-ray) to reach as wide an audience as possible.

If they want to bring attention to the movie, and get more potential DVD sales, then they should show it on TV more often. The last time I saw the first movie on TV was three years ago.

Well it seems they will release We're back on DVD in a few months, I only wonder if there will be better content than their previous animated films DVDs.
(at least We're back will be uncut and with the original ratio : widescreen, which is the MAIN problem of the Balto dvd...)

There is a DVD out there, but it is very slim in terms of features, and hard to find. We are trying to get a new release with many special features (Widescreen version of the movie, cast/crew commentary, maybe a making-of feature as well)

If they're to release it any time in the future, they should do combo packs, where it includes a DVD copy with the Blu-Ray release. I think that's smarter.

They should also have a digital copy, so that people can have a copy on their computers that they could later transfer to an iPod or other video capable device.
