Shane looked back warily, sighig.
"Sure..." he remarked, walking slowly back over to sit beside Rohelle.

Reka sighed and looked at them.
"So." she started. "How long have you too...been a..thing?" she asked.

Shane looked up at the sky to think.
"Uhmmm...a week or two? Three tops." he said.

Reka nodded. "Then i wasn't too far off." she said and glanced at Rochelle. "Dad got on your case huh?"
"I don't even wanna talk about him." Rochelle growled in response.

Shane looked away, and flattened his ear against his head.

"You sound like me whenever i fought with my mom," Reka rolled her eyes. "Cept my mom didn't fight back."
"He has no business kicking Shane out the pack." Rochelle huffed.
"You're right," Reka nodded. "He doesn't."

Shane shrugged.
"I deserved it. It's wrong 'Chelle...I'm so much older..." he murmured, continuing to look away.

"But..." Rochelle lowered her ears and looked at Shane. "It can't be..wrong..?"

Shane felt tears welling up in his eyes, But he fought them back.
"If...Kurt says it is then, it must be...?" Shane whispered.

"I'm not saying it is..and i'm not saying it's not.." Reka said to them. "But...the difference in age...it makes it hard to see if that's what you really want...or it..that's just what your used to seeing."
Rochelle tilted her head slightly.
"You've seen Shane since you were a pup," Reka said to her daughter then looked at Shane. "And you've been by Rochelle since she got to the pack. Maybe...you two are just so used to being together...it seems wrong to be without." Reka suggested. "Maybe it's not love...maybe..it's just a habit.."

Shane nodded.
"I dont know.." he replied sadly, looking away once again.

Rochelle sighed and looked down, thinking.
"Maybe...it's best if you two..just went you're own ways for a bit?" Reka offered. "Not because i'm trying to break you apart...but because i want to make sure you're serious about this.."

Shane looked at Eureka, then Rochelle.
"I guess so..." he said, standing. Shane slowly turned and trotted off in the direction of town.

Rochelle sighed and watched him go, then padded off in her own direction, leaving Reka to mumble about kids as she made her way back to the pack.

ooc: time jump?

Shane had been gone almost three months. He had stayed in town with an old friend on a farm to clear his mind. Soon he found himself wandering back through the woods, searching for his brother.
