I sighed and looked at the door. All of my worst fears were there; a shiver shook me to the core as I pressed the doorbell. There was a high pitched bark coming from the inside and a scratching at the door, fallowed by my mom's trilling voice. I heard her footsteps coming closer and closer and the doorknob turned slowly. This was it.
Standing in the door way was my mom. She looked at me and had to do a double take before scowling at me. She looked over at Arthur then our intertwined hands, then at Alfred. A confused expression lit in her face but she then just went back to scowling at me. My mother was a short woman with bright blue eyes and shoulder length blond hair. She had a few wrinkles besides her eyes and whispers of lines on the sides of her mouth. She looked at me; I looked at her, sending silent messages through observation. She'd packed on the pounds since I'd seen her, though she was still close to an hour glass figure. She's also gained a bit of worry in her eyes. I looked at my feet and sucked in my lips.
"Come in..." She finally sighed, I looked up at her, my eyes wide and tackled her with a hug but she didn't hug me back. She stood stiff, her arms at her sides. I looked down to see a ratty looking dog barking at me.
"You...Got a dog?" I asked, she winced at my new accent.
"Uhhh...Yeah... it was Cassidy's birthday present...But she's living with us right now so..." My mom muttered, her face turning scarlet with embarrassment. So, the Cassidy with absolutely no faults was mooching off of my parents? I smiled; maybe this visit wouldn't be so bad after all.

Arthur quickly yanked his hand away from Riley's at the sight of Riley's mom, and he smiled politely.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Arthur Kirkland." He greeted her, his accent, much much stronger than Riley's little one, standing out incredibly in their household. Alfred grinned at the little dog, petting it's head. He towered over Riley's mom, and then he firmly shook the woman's hand.
"I'm Alfred Jones, nice to meet'cha." He replied aswell, flashing his brilliant blue eyes.

My mother shot a glare at Arthur but just smiled at Alfred "Mom, be nice" I growled, but she just glared at me also. She began walking into the house. On my right was the staircase leading to the upstairs, just like it'd been when I was a child. On my left was the dinning room with a grand, cherry-wood, table and a large crystal chandelier. If you were to keep going into the dinning room you'd make a left and find yourself in the kitchen, which wasn't much. My mom never wanted a dream kitchen, mainly because both she and I couldn't cook. Down the hall and to the left was the T.V. room where my dad sat in his Lay-Z-Boy recliner. He'd gotten up as I walked down the hall and gave one of those glares that made me just want to go curl up and die. I shivered and went to hug him, but he winced as I did so. I sighed and took a step back. My dad was a towering man, maybe even taller than Alfred, with military cut, salt and pepper hair that used to be brown, and his eyes were a deep chocolaty brown, defiantly prettier than mine. He looked at Arthur then Alfred, as if trying to decide who he wanted to hate. My dad never said much, but he did tend to explode, this was rare though. He looked back at me, his frowned deepened and he went back to his chair.

Arthur opened his mouth to greet Riley's father, but didn't get the chance, so he hung his head. He felt Alfred slip him a quick secret 'reassure hug'. Arthur chuckled, looking around.
"Soo..Riley.." He said, then noticing another girl coming downstairs.

I heard my tormentor's footsteps rush down the stairs. Even when she wasn't trying, she looked completely flawless. She had slacks and a large T-shirt on, a dab of eye-liner; her silky blond hair was brushed smoothly into a silky pony tail that flowed like a waterfall over her shoulders and to the middle of her back. This was Cassidy, my tall, absolutely gorgeous sister. She looked at me and squeaked, and ran over to me. Cassidy was easier taller than both me and Arthur, even when she wasn't wearing and shoes. She crushed me with a fake, enthusiastic hug and whispered in my ear.
"Nice baby lump" She hissed.
"Humph, still single and broke, I see" I whispered back.
"Still pregnant and kicked out of college, I see" She retorted. I pulled away from her hug and shivered; she looked over at Arthur and Alfred and grinned hugely. The tall blond ran over to both of them and wrapped her thin arms around their neck, taking her time while hugging Arthur. I frowned at this, what did she think she was doing?

Arthur stiffened at the abrupt hug from Riley's sister, then peeled himself away from her. He focused on her with his brilliant green eyes, and didn't even bother smiling. It was the same feeling he got around Sean, hate, and pure terror.
"Hullo." He greeted, glancing nervously up at Alfred.

Cassidy grinned wildly and looked back at me and winked "So..." She said, clapping her hands "Who was the one who got my lil' sissy preggers!" She exclaimed and I buried my face in my hands. Cassidy walked over to Alfred and looked at him then shook her head "No, not that you’re not cute but, you look to innocent" She grinned at Alfred, winking at him and moving to Arthur. She looked him up and down, maybe a little too long for my liking "Yes, you, I'd go for you, so my sister would defiantly go for you" She said, licking her lips and trying to look seductive. I scowled at her and moaned "Casssiiieee!! Stop flirting with them! Well, just stop flirting with Arthur, he's mine. Go ahead and flirt with Alfred, he might like that" I growled, sounding like a high school girl again. "Aww, come on! You're being totally unfair!" She whined scooping up that little rat dog of her's and walking upstairs. "No good, backstabbing wh*re" I cursed, shooting a glare at her.

"No i wouldn't like that!" Alfred yelped, and Arthur laughed. When Cassidy stared at him, Arthur scoffed.
"You don't impress me." He stated blankly, his voice showing no emotion except his accent. Alfred smirked, and watched Cassidy pick up the dog.

Cassidy smirked and poked Arthur's chest "We'll see about that" She mused before walking upstairs. I growled as she left and felt slightly awkward.
"So dad... anything new with the Giants?" I asked but he just shook his head.
"How about the Yankees?" I tried but he shook his head. I wanted to talk to him but I decided against it. "Well...I guess we'll stay in my old room..." I said slowly, he just nodded. I shivered then looked at Alfred.
"Hey! Alfred! We should go see you're family!" I exclaimed, trying to brighten the mood. Cassidy flew down the stairs, the little rat-dog at her heels.
"Can I come?!" She asked.
"Get you're own life!" I yelled at her. My dad turned and shot up from his Lay-Z-Boy recliner. He got really close to me and I backed away slowly until I bumped into a wall behind me.
"Don't yell at her! She's done nothing wrong! You're the one who got knocked up and kicked out of college, not to mention you don't even have a job! If she wants to go then let her go! God Riley, just because Cassidy is more successful than you doesn't mean you can f*cking bite her head off! You're in my house now! And you live under my rules until you pack up and leave! Do you hear me? Stop being mean to your sister! " He screamed at me, not just over the phone, but in my face. I felt his voice echo from the building and I shook. My stomach churned and I felt like crying, but I just stood there, looking at my feet while he glared at me. I felt my cheeks flush red, wishing Arthur and Alfred hadn't seen that, but they did, they were standing right there.

Arthur's temper rose up when Riley's father yelled at her, and he stepped infront of the tall man.
"Hey! Don't yell at her you da** Yank! She didn't do anything wrong! It was all my fault so if anyone here's to yell at take a shot at me!" He snarled, and Alfred grabbed his arm, pulling him backwards a tad, but Arthur was standing his ground. He was so good at standing up to anyone but his own family.

I yelped when Arthur started yelling at my dad. That was a really bad move; my dad stiffened and took a good swing at Arthur. His fist connecting with Arthur's jaw and I yelped louder. I ran to my dad and crashed into him, but my dad wasn't after a fight, he just stood there. I screamed at my dad, afraid of him but also extremely p*ssed that he had just hit Arthur. That's when my dad started screaming.
"Who do you think you are? First you get my youngest daughter pregnant then come into my house and insult me?! Nu-uh! I'm not standing for that! Get outa' my house right now! All of you! I don't want to see any of you here! Riley you’re a disappointment if you love this jacka**, oh wait, you all ready were! And another thin-" My mom's hand was clapped over my dad's mouth before he could say anything else.
"Honey! Think about what you say! That's our daughter!" She yelled and I took a few steps back. My mom glared at me, but a spark of love shone bright in her eyes "Riley, sweetie, go see Alfred's family, I'll talk to dad" She said.
"But moooom!!" Cassidy complained, but was silenced by my mom's glare. I nodded and tried to get everyone to the door.

As soon as Riley's father hit Arthur and sent the brit stumbling backwards, Alfred swung his fist at the older man, hitting him with just as much strength. A small flow of blood trickled out of Arthur's mouth, and he held his jaw as he stood up, trying to get Alfred to stop.
"Alfred. Come on." Arthur said quietly, grabbing the American's arm and pulling him outside. They sat down on a bench on the sidewalk, and Arthur sighed.
"I reaally don't like Riley's dad.." Arthur said quietly, watching the cars roll by. Alfred nodded, rubbing a thumb over Arthur's jaw.
"You okay?" He asked worriedly and Arthur nodded. "I'll live," He replied.

I saw Arthur and Alfred run out after Alfred took a swing at my dad, but my dad deserved that. I felt a few tears in my eyes "God! Why can't you just be normal! I hate you so much!" I screamed at my dad before running outside. I saw them sitting on a bench and I stood for a second, unsure if they were mad at me or not. I walked over to the bench and sat down "I hate him so much..." I said, my voice in a whisper. I looked at the blood coming from Arthur's mouth and I wavered "I'm so sorry, I couldn't...I shouldn't have brought you here...Aw this is my fault, I'm so sorry, aw d*mmit! Aw f*ck!" I apologized burrying my face in my hands.

Arthur nodded, looking down at his feet. He wrapped his arm around Riley's shoulders.
"It's fine." He replied, simply waiting for someone to come outside and ruine the moment; it always seemed to happen. Alfred gripped Arthur's hand tightly, trying to keep himself from shaking.

I shook my head. "No, it's not fine, nothing will ever be 'fine' agian...I don't have anywhere to go other than you and, let's not lie to ourselves, I don't see the three of us all together in our 30's or 40's. Everything is messed up, I have no solid plan anymore, no plan B. Nothing, my life is ruiened! My parents will always hate me, I've got a kid on the way...And...I'm planning on keeping it." I sighed and leaned into Arthur, looking blankly ahead of me at the New York traffic. I don't know why I'd just told Arthur that I was keeping the kid, but it felt right to say that "Alfred, wanna go see you're family?" I asked, feeling wierd.
