I took these last night. I was very disappointed, I saw a gorgeous sunset on the way home from dropping my friend off, and I didn't have my camera... So I got the best shot of it as I could when I got home. Crappy quality, zoomed in all the way. But this picture is rather amusing xD Caption: "Psst, let me tell you a secrete". I just thought she looked pretty in the setting sun light.

It's surprising just how many species have a melanistic gene in them. xD
It's possible for some penguins to be born melanistic and have no white bellies. All black with the orange bits.

New photos! Grouped accordingly. 1. Again, for Mighty, because she's all ga-ga over clouds. Here's a puppy cloud. lol (Remember, Mighty? Looking for shapes, eddies, currents, unusual formations?) And a cloud that is reminiscent of a pirate ship (taken over the ocean at the Outer Banks, North Carolina...from the beach of the town of Avon...very near where the infamous pirate Edward Teach [Blackbeard] had his most famous lair and anchorage..."Teach's Hole" on Ocracoke Island)...use your imagination, and you can kinda get there: More clouds: 2. A nature walk at the Cape Hatteras Light House, in the town of Buxton, North Carolina (on the Outer Banks) provides visitors with a pristine and bucolic 3/4-mile walking tour of a maritime forest and salt marsh. Beautiful! I took plenty of shots, most of which didn't translate well to photos. But I have a few...including a companion who keep my two dogs and I company for part of the walk (a butterfly) and the little foot bridge, spanning part of the salt marsh, where I first encountered him. Also some shots of the salt marsh itself and of a fallen, twisted tree along the path: 3. A shot my father actually took of a white tail deer (a doe) who decided to take a rest in my parents' back yard...she bedded down right on the lawn, in full view, and was very blasé about the human who interrupted her "beauty rest". Seems to me that, the closer they get to human habitat, the more brazen and devil-may-care they get. As if they know that hunters cannot target them if they stay close to human houses and other structures. XD Crazy animals. 4. A flower... 5. Some sky shots 6. Twice in one week, after some bad weather, I encountered spectacular rainbows! One off the beach at Cape Hatteras (the Outer Banks), in North Carolina (after a rough storm that hit much of the east coast), and the other locally in Williamsburg, Virginia: The end of that particular rainbow...the one immediately above (I guess the pot o' gold is down in Davy Jones' locker. lol): 7. The Atlantic Ocean, off Cape Hatteras, during the aforementioned storm. The wind and rain kicked up like crazy (as it usually does out there during a storm), as did the waves. Interesting that the waves ran diagonal to the beach one way, and the wind whipped the other (throwing spray off the top of the waves): And, comparatively, here is the same stretch of ocean when the weather is good (it's actually more turquoise than it shows here...a beautiful bluish-turqouise): 8. A kite surfer off that same stretch of beach... 9. A dead bush, blown and bent by the maritime winds, on the dunes overlooking that beach: 10. Warnings about a sea turtle nest on the beach...this happens every year, and it's nice to see the National Park Service taking steps to protect the nest locations (they rope them off): 11. My two Australian Shepherds, Milo and Izzi, having fun on the beach (and at the beach house) at Avon, Cape Hatteras (the Outer Banks), North Carolina: 12. Milo: 13. Izzi:
