Lark stepped closer to the field, feeling responsible for the others' safety. Small electrical impulses wafted through the air, signaling that it was close.

The field soon came into view. It honestly looked kind of like the rest of the tunnel, but bigger, with a tiled floor. Sparks jumped between cracks, the only sign of the danger that lurked there. "What do we do now?" Kara asked, mouth dry.

"I think we should watch where we step." Lark offered, his eyes glued to the electric flooring. "Let me go first." he stated, taking a step in the middle of a crack in the tiles. He was abruptly thrown back, yelping out of surprise, still stunned for the moment. A small curl of smoke eminated from the sole of his shoe as he caught himself before falling. "What a rush."

"Oh yeah. Don't step on the cracks." Pascal instructed.

Rue stepped cautiously into the middle of the tile. She felt a small tingle, but nothing more. "We're fine as long as we stay in the center of the tiles," she confimed, taking another step.

Pascal carefully stepped in the exact center of the tiles, but when nothing happened, he relaxed his muscles and unclenched his eyelids. Phew. he thought as he followed Rue, hopping from tile to tile.

Lark tried to step in the middle of a tile, expecting everything would be fine, but was met with another strong shock. He yelped, hopping onto another tile, that also shocked him. "What the heck?!" he demanded. "It doesn't like me!"

"Just run really, really fast," Rue suggested, now halfway there.

Lark heeded her advice and ran through the field, hopping with long strides.

Ooc:// Sorry, WB >.<

All were soon across, the crackling electricity no longer posing a threat. "Well, at least we got that out of the way," Rue said, struggling to be optimistic with little success.

"We still have a lot more stuff to get through," Kara said glumly.

Rue scowled. That didn't help her small amount of optimism any.

Lark attempted to bring up the mood. "How bad could it be?" he questioned, playfully nudging Kara. "We got through two already, we can go a few more."

"This could go on for hours, you know." Pascal informed flatly, staring straight ahead.

Lark glared at Pascal and smacked him upside the head. "Not helping!" he retorted.

Tempted to smack Lark, Rue refrained, instead replying, "Well, neither is beating each other up. Let's just keep moving, alright? We'll get through it eventually."

Pascal rubbed the back of his head when he heard noises coming from up the tunnel. "Do you guys hear that?"

"As much as I would like for it to be your imagination, yes, I hear it too," Rue sighed. This was just getting old. Tests, tests, tests...blah, blah. Really, these people needed to get a life.

Ooc:// ^ ...lol

Lark listening hard for the noise, only picking it up slightly. "What will have have us go through next?" he demanded angrily, still a bit shaken from the electric shocking. "A meat grinder?!"

"I wouldn't be surprised..." whimpered Pascal.

"I don't think we'll have to go through a meat grinder," Rue assured him, taking Pascal's hand comfortingly. She turned to Lark. "And I really didn't need that mental image."

Lark mentally kicked himself. "Sorry." he apologized.

The noise came closer, and Pascal stopped walking, standing stiffly in the ay of the tunnel. "I'm not going." he announced, tiny fists clenched by his side.
