"Hey!" Tess cried. It simultaneously dried, and froze her feet. "That was cold," she said accusingly, placig her hands on her hips and scowling at him.

Sumi grinned smugly. "Mission accomplished." "Would you two knock it off?" Hissed Kya, removing another branch from a nearby tree.

Tess shot a smirk at Sumi, before running towards Gale, for the possible protection he might offer.

Sumi rolled his eyes, then got back to work on the branches.

"So, has anything worth telling happened to you recently?" Setsuko asked Rue in hopes of starting a better conversation.

"Well," Rue said, thinking a moment. "Lark, my brother, also got married recently."

Setsuko glanced up in surprise. "Really? To whom?"

"To...Lise," Rue said, with only a moment's hesitation.

"Who's that?" Setsuko asked. She hadn't expected to know the person, of course, so the question seemed an obvious one. She asked it anyways.

"To be honest, I don't know her that well. Lark and I haven't been in touch lately..." Rue said, her voice tainted with a subtle hint of regret.

"Oh." Said Setsuko, a hint of sympathy in her voice. She didn't have any siblings herself, but she was very close to her cousin, Samiia. They visited often. "How come you've been out of contact with him? He's your brother, after all!"

"Really, I don't know how we became so distant. He just, didn't call as often, and I didn't want to bother him. Now he only calls about big news, or something concerning me," Rue said.

"Call you?" Setsuko echoed. "Well, then, you must live close by! Why don't you just visit each other?"

"He doesn't live close at all. I meant call, like, with a phone," Rue explained.

Setsuko looked utterly baffled. "A phone? What's a phone?"

"I think we have enough wood," Said Sumi, pointing to the pile that they'd built up. "Yeah," agreed Kya. "And Yuumi probably shouldn't be tugging so much wood...he could get like, splinters or something. And you know what happens when a three-year-old gets splinters!" Kya, of course, didn't come into contact with wood very often back at the South Pole, but she remembered once when Kanna was younger and they were visiting Samiia, her mother's cousin, Kanna got a splinter. It was not a joyous sight when it had to be removed.

Rue remembered too late about the fact that Setsuko had not grown up with the same life as Rue had. The avian-hybrid cocked her head, puzzling momentarily on how to explain a phone. She had a bit of practice on explaining things, due to the former 'visit' here.
"A phone, is basically, something used to talk to someone else. You talk through one end, and you can heard the other person talk through the other end." She demonstarted how a phone roughly looked like with her fingers, making a fist with only her pinkie and thumb extended. She placed it against her head, in the position a phone would be plaaced.
